Ratings and ReviewsSee All
En garde! Every thrust and parry of athletic fencing translates beautifully in this test of skill. Photorealistic graphics bring it all to life: a global campaign mode, upgradable equipment and the thrill of landing the perfect touché. The game’s immersive combat swept us up in a world of fun challenges.
Great with one problem
This is a truly excellent attempt at converting a fast and technical sport into a highly playable game. It is fast enough to be challenging, deep enough to be engaging while being both very smooth and graphically very pretty!
My one and only problem is that having completed the campaign mode I no longer have much reason to continue. True, I still have one last fighting style to unlock (and several more to try) as well as various pieces of equipment, but what for? I don't have facebook so I can only fight the PvP fencers created by other users, which are overwhelmingly of levels 1 and 2 (I am currently at level 46). In a nutshell, I really REALLY want to continue playing this awesome game but there is nothing remotely challenging left.
This is easily rectifiable, create one more category of gameplay, i.e. bracket tournaments with AI fencers of differing styles but, of course, at the appropriate level. I would be very happy to pay for this extra!
Good but needs to be more difficult
It's a good game, with good graphics and the potential for a variety of playing styles. Only issue is it's too easy. I still use the Aggressive playing style (which you get really early in the game) and it wins every game. Parry each attack and hit back before opposition is ready. Works every time.
