FiiO Control 4+

Doesn’t even see my BTR3K on my iPhone 15 no matter what combination of resetting/device clearing/saying magic incantations I try. Useless. Will have to buy a different Bluetooth DAC from a company that bothers about their software.

Having the same issues as other posters below.

If you have the app on iOS it doesn't let you get by the connect screen. It enters the main menu then kicks you right back out within a second.

Come on FiiO, this needs sorted.

The only bad point is counter intuitive connection, but : 1. Connect via Bluetooth as for normal playback 2. Launch the app (it should list your device already) 3. Click on the device 4. Follow the instructions on screen to the T, in Q5s click the Bluetooth button (very quick click) and click cancel on the app message (this is a hugely counter intuitive step) and boom, you’re in.

It syncs up with the device in “real time” so there is a shot delay to all operations but ... it means you don’t have to save anything. Just change what you need and disconnect. Easy.

On Q5s at least, it allows you to change a few settings, use a very decent onboard EQ, but most importantly for me, change the LPF type on the DAC, and this is huge as it changes the whole sound signature (you need to have decent hearing and good headphones to notice exactly what is happening). Q5s goes from sounding warm, a bit muffled, a bit nasal, to a bit clearer, to really clear with lots of air ... but a bit of distortion in the top end.

And you can’t change ANY of those settings without the app afaik, so really hope it works for you because without discovering that LPF setting I would be selling my Q5s as it wasn’t bright enough for me with the factory settings.
