File Info Professional 4+

I am just about to uninstall this app. I've desparately wanted to love this app as it looks like it's quite well written. It has several big problems. It takes over every file type which is annoying. Worst thing is the way it tries to sell you stuff when you open it. I just want a good hex editor. Good bye!

There’s nothing wrong with this app per-se. However instaling this app will overrides many common file extensions so they launch with File Info Professional.

For example, movie, image and even disk image files seem to open by default with File Info Professional. I found this incredibly annoying and it caused a lot of problems for me.

Because of this, the app was removed.

Other than that, I did find it useful for what I needed at the time but it’s more hassle than it’s worth due to this major flaw.

This app has prevented me from uploading my pdf files because they are not recognised as pdf’s I have already wasted an hour trying to sort this out. Even though I have deleted the app and rebooted my laptop, the files are still not recognised.
