FINAL FANTASY XIV Companion 9+

FFXIV Companion is a mobile app that allows players of Final Fantasy XIV to view their in-game inventory and friends lists while they’re away from their computer or console.

It also allows players to buy and sell items using their retainers at the cost of one Kupo Nut per action (e.g. buying an item, selling an item, changing an item’s price, etc.). Players earn one Kupo Nut per day when they log into the app.

This app also has a few more features such as transferring items between your character and your retainers. However, those features unfortunately cannot be accessed unless you pay a premium rate for this app.

Personally, I don’t really see the point of paying premium for this app as it only adds to the cost of playing the game. If anything, it’s only most useful for checking your inventory and friends list while you’re away from your computer or console and nothing more. Therefore, although this app is simple to use and functional, it’s not very convenient, so I wouldn’t invest so much into it.

Really nice looking app with decent functionality. The event planner is pretty robust and the ability to check retainers is useful. You can buy/sell/change a listing once per day which I don’t have a problem with (undercutting would be horrendous if unlimited). It’s nice being able to see your friend’s levels and such, although I wish they’d also display some of the information from the lodestone. It would also be great if they folded in the database functionality of Libra Eorzea now they are no longer updating it.
Worth downloading for the free additional favoured destination teleport, but I really don’t think the premium features are worth the cost at present. Hopefully they continue to build on the app and make it more robust in the future.

This is a companion app. There’s already a lot saying I can’t do enough on it. Pay to win. Blah blah. FFXIV is not a pay to win game it’s a pay for extras eg mounts, minions. Stuff you can’t do anything with but enjoy. Definitely doesn’t help with the high end duties.

This app is another one of those if you want to pay then great you support the dev team to bring constant content otherwise just don’t pay

This is a great app for keeping an eye on marketboards and selling things as the idea comes if you’re out and about etc. It’s nice to be able to chat to my F.C. and linkshells too.
Granted you can’t just go on and organise your entire retainers shop but it’s a companion not the actual game just jump online.

I would love to see the timings system come in to keep track of my ships and maybe the lotto results. I think with the amount of content in the game there’s a lot that could make this app better but at day 1 only time will tell.

Look forward to the premium side being released.
