I use ancestry and find my past a lot, mostly on the web/ desktop versions. Was great to see there was an app but disappointed I can’t see the actual records in the app just the transcripts on searching. Find my Past is good because of its access to records and has many more images of records than ancestry. So I use it all the time to verify information. Would be great if the app could allow view of the images.
Very disappointing

I wanted to trace my grandmother as I never knew her past so Iv been looking about on sites and one of my heritage identified information on this site. The problem was it wouldn’t let me see unless I joined. I looked at the cost and it told you monthly fee so I joined, what I didn’t realise to my mistake that the price was for joining for 12 months, very misleading and then when I did get to open the site it was a general register with information I knew and lots of other peoples strangers as it was a death birth register.I’m gutted Iv spent money on I don’t have to be stuck with something that is difficult to understand. Way overpriced and to many items in the yes; drop down site very misleading indeed. Really think before you opt to use this site
Disappointing app

Compared to Ancestry or FamilySearch, this is a poor app. It doesn’t format the screen for an iPad, despite claiming to be compatible. The display stays in portrait, does not rotate, and only occupies the centre of the screen - clearly designed for the iPhone and not ported properly! Also, it appears to be just a front-end for the website, so there’s little advantage in having the app versus using it in Safari. Finally, the AppStore description talks of an in-app purchase of a 12-month pro subscription for 0.99, but this is not anywhere apparent when you try to find it. I see from the response to reviews written two years ago that this is a phased development of the app - but it’s sadly not making much progress towards being useful.
Accurate but limited options

Every grandparent that got mentioned was accurate, but 59 pound for 3 months is crazy. I found out that my great grandad was in the 1st world war which is interesting but i wasn’t allowed to look anything into that unless i paid ridiculous money. There’s not even a free trial or anything to subscribe to either. It was interesting and accurate to see there names and what have you but anything interesting about them you won’t get to find out. I get that they was my family but i will NOT be spending 59 pound for them to tell me they had the flu one time in 1428 BC 😮💨
We've made some small changes to make the app run more smoothly.
