Description

More than just a game, First Words Sampler is a powerful educational tool for toddlers and preschoolers. It provides hours of fun while giving your child a head start on learning about letters and words.

If your child is old enough to ask for your phone, they're old enough for First Words Sampler!

First Words Sampler teaches kids about letters, how letters relate to sounds, and even how to spell words. First Words Sampler is toddler-tested and approved, with a user-interface designed specifically for the littlest of fingers. The game includes beautiful illustrations, each matched with entertaining sounds and high-quality recordings of letters and words.

Kids can play the game by themselves, but they also enjoy bringing their adults along, talking about the animals, saying the names of the letters, and watching the pictures spin around and sound off.

This free application is a sampling of words selected from our highly rated paid apps, First Words Animals and First Words Deluxe. We've also included some words from our Spanish, German, Japanese and French First Words apps. If you like First Words Sampler, you can keep your toddler laughing and learning with the full paid applications.

Note: We love getting feedback and hearing stories about kids using our software. Leave a comment in iTunes and send us feedback at learningtouch.com. Tell us what you'd like to see us do next.

It's ok

As a teacher I wouldn't be able to use it as it uses the letter names rather than sounds which is not how children should be initially learning.

It would have been PERFECT if it was using sounds

Good idea but…

Good idea but the phonics side needs work, as you have all the letters as separate graphemes, when within the word they form a digraph. For example the word ‘blue’ should be spelled b-l-ue…3 sounds, with the ue working together to make the long oooh sound, whereas in your app it sounds it out as “uh-eh” which is obviously not how it should be sounded out when spelling. Another example I found when sampling was the ‘sh’ digraph being sounded out as two separate sounds when they work together as a digraph. I was playing with the UK phonics setting.

Good but Delovper read 𝚙𝚕𝚜

My cousin was struggling to read his book so I downloaded this and it helped him but when he started again it did the same words in the same order please 😫🙏🙏💓can you fix 🔨🔧this.

Developer Response ,

Thank you for writing. There is a user setting that controls the word order. Go to Options => Game Options => Word Order and select "Random". That will ensure that the words appear in a different order each time your cousin plays the game. The game will still use the same list of words. If you want more words, you can purchase one of our paid apps such as First Words Deluxe or First Words Professional.
