Flashcards Deluxe is an easy to use, yet powerful flashcard app which you can use to study just about anything you want. I use this app for my own Chinese studies, and am constantly improving it to make it better for myself and others.

You can create flashcards either on your computer or directly within the app. If you don't want to make your own, you can browse and download flashcards from the app's Shared Library.
Creating cards on your computer is an easy process of making a two column list of questions and answers in a text editor or spreadsheet, copy/pasting your list into our website, and then downloading it to your device. You can also transfer flashcards using Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Docs, or even your own web server.

Brilliant for learning Japanese
I switched from Anki to this and love it. Four reasons: you can have up to 5 cards per word, so if you are switching to monolingual you can have sentence, Japanese image, with sound and hiragana, and on the third English key word that you don’t need to look at if you remember it first time. Second, you can set up the audio to read your cards so no faffing with Forvo and audio for sentences that come out of books etc. Third, it has a browse mode so you can simply listen to your flashcards for reinforcement without messing up the SRS algorithm. Finally, I find it aesthetically nicer than Anki and much simpler to use once you have watched the basic videos the creator produced. I know Anki has a bit of a cult following and lots of bells and whistles, but for me, this is the perfect app for helping me learn Japanese.

This app is brilliant, I’ve been using different Flashcards apps over the years but I have never used one that ticks all the boxes, great value for money, practical and packed with features some of the features I like about this app is the ability to record yourself asking the questions if you want and put it in auto play which means I can do other things while testing myself and subfolders, with a lot of other apps you create a topic or subject and they don’t give you the ability to create subfolders within a subject and a one off payment of £3.99 is just the icing on the cake for me, there are other things that I like but I’ll just finish up by saying I highly recommend this app I just hope the developer keeps up with maintenance because this is perfect 👍👍

I never write reviews, but this app is so good I just had to. I can’t believe it has so few reviews.
I have just started using it to learn Chinese and already my recognition and recall of phrases has gone through the roof. It is so easy to flag whether you know a word or not and using spaced repetition you will see the ones you know less frequently.
The ability to include sounds and pictures on the cards is invaluable for trying to get to grips with pronunciation in Chinese and to learn a few important characters.
Best of all, it is really simple to upload a whole deck of cards from a spreadsheet.
At only £3.99 it is an absolute bargain!
