Beautifully designed and powerful to use, Flighty is a first-class flight tracker for those on the move. The app offers detailed flight maps, live tracking, and delay forecasting — but the real magic is the perfectly timed notifications that keep you up to date and stress-free.
Great but limited and too expensive
Love this app, definitely the best out there, but seems like they took the cue on pricing from other apps, and honestly, as a big tech product manager that worked at Booking for years, I don’t see HOW charging this amount is doing any good for business.
I’m a frequent flyer, at least 10 trips per year, and I can’t see myself paying 48£ per year. The yearly price is daunting given most people do not travel that often.
To give you an example, this is almost half of what I pay for my Revolut metal, which gives me travel insurance with incredible coverage, or 33% of Privium, which gives me priority queue at AMS and biometric immigration.
My suggestion is A - single-time purchase for a number of flights, something like 5£ will do. B - a monthly option for 2£ with unlimited flights. Stop whenever you want etc and C - Yearly plan for power users like people in airline industry etc. So not a lot of changes from what you currently have, just making this more affordable and focused on volume.
Fantastic (if it worked)
The app did not live up to the promise it showed from the description. Sadly no gate numbers ever displayed, even after boarding the plane. None of the ‘inbound flight info’ was available either- mainly why I got it. My flights were in Europe, but if this only really works with US flights it should not be available anywhere else. It’s a real shame as the potential for this app is very good. The layout and build is excellent. The lockecreen info etc are fantastic… but for me contained nothing but blank fields. It was accurate about landing times etc and did show a rescheduled take off time well before I was informed by email. So, potential to be an essential app for travellers, just needs to work on getting the gate and other info into the app. Would be 5* if so, sadly I am deleting and cancelling weekly subscription. Also, VERY expensive. No free trial to see if it works have lost another * as I feel I have been ripped off to even see if it worked as promised! It didn’t: so in the bin it goes. Will look out for reviews if the app gets an upgrade then will reconsider getting again in the future.
