Flipd: focus & study timer 4+

It kinda got worse.... it’s okay, but not as good.

Flipd was a really helpful, fun, creative way to stay offline. The groups are really helpful as you want to get to the top of your group, and the two different modes to stay offline are super helpful. However, the thing that motivated me most was the chart they had, going up and down depending on how many hours/minutes you did. So, everything was great until, slowly, they started making everything premium. I came home and clicked on Flipd, and the chart said something like ‘get Flipd premium’ and the circle chart they had just said ‘classroom’ and ‘other things’. I was really, really disappointed, and now I feel as if the whole app is going to become premium and I don’t want to pay for it. It was much better when being premium was a perk, but not a necessity. :(

I’m actually amazed

I never write reviews. Ever. But I just had to. I got this app about a week ago because I procrastinate a lot, usually I never revise and I have my GCSE mocks coming up so I knew I had to start sometime. I downloaded this app with the hope that it would help and my god it did! I actually get really distracted when revising, usually my mind wanders off and I forget about revision completely but since getting this app and using the audio features I’ve found it really easy to focus? I’m actually really confused as to why this is working so well for me, usually these never work? Anyways, I find listening to background noise like fire sounds and airplane cabin sounds really helps. I convinced all my mates to get the app and now we’re all competing and its really good for competitive people. I have my first mock tomorrow and I’m actually feeling 100% prepared thanks to this app so thank you! I don’t have the premium version but even without it you can basically use the app just as well, although I’m considering updating to premium because it’s dead cheap and it adds bonuses, if you’re a student I’d recommend this.

Big Problem

At first the app seemed quite good as it let me shut down my phone so that I could focus on whatever I actually needed to do such as homework or just so that I can focus on studies and myself. However I realised quickly that the app had some problems such as after the timer finishing all of my push notifications would be restarted so when I entered an app it asked to don’t/allow push notifications, but that is just the small problem, around 10:30am I thought I’d shut my phone off for 4 hours for a study period however this kept my phone locked until 5 when then I thought maybe I locked it for 8 hours however when it turned to 9pm and I was still unable to use any of my main apps I had to restart my phone by erasing all my content. This was a massive pain as I had to save all of my photos to a usb before hand and then saving everything to iCloud (however this was not possible). I hope this gets fixed by the app developers because it’s a massive problem which will lead to them loosing all their customers. And people be aware that your taking this risk when downloading the app.

Hey there 👋 thanks for your message and so sorry for the trouble here! Full Lock needs a good internet connection and sometimes a disconnected data or WiFi network can cause it to not return your apps right away. This can easily be resolved by uninstalling the Full Lock permission from your iOS Settings, rather than erasing your phone. We don't recommend erasing your phone because it's not necessary, but I understand the concern and why you did. Again, we're sorry and are always available to help on our FAQ and in-app support chat.
