Ratings and Reviews
You know, its simple but it works
I have been trying to find so many things just to keep me productive.
The more complex, the more ironic the product as I am procrastonating with the product thats meant to be making me concentrate.
The beuty of this, is you click go, you work until it says stop. You stop until it tells you to work again.
Developer Response ,
Thank you for this review!
Making a productivity app simple is often the hardest part. I hope Focus continues to help you concentrate!
Best wishes,

Well that’s a shame — a good app ruined
UPDATE:
Thanks for the ‘developer response'... But really? More that fifty quid, every year! There is nowhere near enough value in this software for that sort of price. As I said before, charging a one-off £20 – £40 for this utility would be fair. But asking so much on a subscription basis is ridiculous.
I pay less for Trello, for heavens sake!!
Madness.
====================================
Subscription payment for software less than something the scale of Adobe Creative Cloud is just a form of extortion.
Focus is a minor app, at best — what would have been termed a “utility” in previous iterations of the MacOS. But I guess greedy developers will always be attracted to the easy money of subscription pricing. For me, it will ALWAYS make more sense to pay $25– $50 for decent, fully resolved software rather than a never-ending subscription tax. Subscription payment both discourages the developer from properly ‘finishing’ their product, while encouraging annoying tinkering and feature creep.
I for one will now be deleting the Focus app from my Mac, and switching to one of the many other competing Pomodoro apps available for a reasonable, fixed price. I wholeheartedly suggest you do likewise, and AVOID this taxing app.
Developer Response ,
Thanks for your feedback. While we agree that a subscription is not a good fit for a simple "utility", we are not seeing Focus as that. Instead, it's used by many people everyday to get their work done and be more productive. It features the best pomodoro timer available, task management and in-depth statistics. The comparison with Trello is also shortsighted because we would love to lower the prices but we don’t have enough users to do that. The alternative to the subscription model (that creates a sustainable foundation to further develop and maintain the product) is to abandon the app and that would be a pity, as there are many people who love to work with Focus.
Synch problems still not fixed.
Despite developer's responses, I'm writing today (Nov, 2020) after an update and after only three sessions already my Apple Watch and my iMac are showing different numbers of sessions completed (which has been a persistent problem the whole time I've used this app). In addition, since the update today, the focus app on the iMac has crashed more than ten times.
If the app was free, these issues would be very easy to overlook but given the subscription cost this is still extremely frustrating. That being said, I still find that using the app helps me a great deal with work and productivity.
Developer Response ,
Hi, the crashes on the Mac are fixed with the latest update, very sorry for any inconvenience caused! We'll look into the activity sync issue between Mac and Apple Watch next. - Best wishes, Kerstin
