5 Stars of Hate

I will be the first to admit that like many reviews I read before downloading, ‘I HATE subscriptions!’ But I would also hate if there wasn’t a good time management app & no one is going to make one for free are they? So I joined the letters together & that made words and I read about it. I looked at the shiny photos, I read the digits & counted the coppers in my pocket & decided I would give it a 3 day trial. If I liked it (the irony is I haven’t had time), I bank the said coppers & try for a month. If it isn’t for me then, I will change my review and be fair. I will delete it and please believe me if it is just a timer or a big pile of 🐮💩 then I will let you know.
Since I was brought up by parents who were not originally related to each other, I think it’s a fairer way to review an app & on saying that, I really do need to find the time to use it properly. I suppose if I didn’t waste time ranting about people who want everything for nothing, it would be a start...

Helps me complete homework both earlier and more efficiently

I started using this a few months and it is extremely useful for help with my schoolwork. The times for each each focus and break can be easily changed meaning that I could change the timings to the recommended amount my school suggest I spend on work. Having a visual countdown gives me motivation to try and complete the work before the timer is up and also motivates me as I know a break is coming. The fact that it also has a long break feature every so often means that sessions whilst trying to complete work are a lot more structured and I am therefore a lot more efficient than I would be if I just sat down at my desk and said “now do my homework”! Extremely effective even if you don’t buy the premium!

Not worth it

The app is not too bad, but I would not recommend it as the subscription is far too costly and it should not be our problem (as potential users) if developers decide to make their living only from this app (therefore that's why such a high subscription price), so I have cancelled my 1st month subscription (which was a waste of my £4.49) and will be deleting it.

Hi, the best way to do this would be if you two as developers both get a full time job which pays decent wages and then you could finance and develop the app as your hobby as that way it would be accessible to more people and there would be no longer the desperate need to charge such a ridiculous amounts of money for it (instead of the current situation of making it your primary source of income and charging fortune for it which is just plain wrong)! Best wishes in using some common sense in the future.

Developer Response ,

Hi, I'm sorry that Focus was not the right app for your use case. The alternative to pricing an app in the way that it can finance its development is to not develop the app at all - which would be a pity for those users who rely on Focus and are happy with the service we provide. -Best wishes, Kerstin

In response to your reply:
In other words, we should work on Focus in our spare time, so that you can use Focus for free? An app with a rich feature set like Focus, with regular updates and somebody who helps customers solve support issues will then not be possible. So, the product you are looking for is not feasible as a hobby project, it rather requires time, money and love to develop.
