In short, we do not collect any of your exploration data. Your data will be uploaded when you sync them with your cloud storages, but only you have access to them. We don't.

My favourite app
I have used this app for 5 years now and I can say it is by far my most used and longest continuously used app. Everywhere I go, even if I’ve been along previous routes, I will have this on, even if it just to take a slight detour down a road I have not “unfogged”. I have found it a great way to interact with the environment around me and discover new places that I may never have ventured to before, purely before of Fog. The app has improved immensely over the years I’ve used it, namely it’s battery consumption. I look forward to many more years of this app
Bitter sweet
I would like to begin by saying how much I love this app. It has really made me think about the world around me and how I interact with it. I feel I take advantage of my environment so much more then what I might have done previously. That said unfortunately the app has a considerable shortcoming. Recently my phone crashed requiring resorting from a previous sync. Having recently backed it up to my laptop I was not too concerned. However on restoring the phone to its previous sync I found that the entire fog of world app had been deleted reset to default settings. All of the data is associated with the phone and not with a profile account that you can log in and out of. This is a huge shortcoming, if like me your phone crashes or if you change your phone. There really need to be unique profile accounts for this app to be any more meaningful, otherwise it will reset every time a phone is changed. This needs to be addressed in future editions of the app.

Hi, if you did use the built-in sync function to sync your data to any cloud storage. You can just click the sync button again to get your data back. If you didn't sync with cloud storage, it's still possible to extract your exploration data from the iTunes backup file. You may send an email to fogofworld@ollix.com if you need further help. Wizardry
My phones screen smashed and when I had it replaced, the phone locked me out and I had to connect to iTunes and factory reset. This meant losing all my FoW data just after I’d come back from travelling. So I reset the phone and redownloaded the app to find my last back up was 2 years ago. A week later the app somehow managed to recover the lost data and fill the map back in. Absolutely no clue how since my iCloud was full and the phone was wiped but I ain’t complainin. Apart from that an excellent app and well worth the price for the enjoyment you get
