subscription fatigue

Sorry, but i have subscription fatigue, seems everyone wants to jump on the subscription bandwagon without taking into account people can only finance a finite amount of subscriptions. As a user of the previous version i am going to have let this one go, developers managed to make living before subscriptions and some still do, subscription need to be low, or the app really needs to be an essential need, this one is not either.

We released a v3 bug fix update this week, free of charge as they have been for over a decade. Apple has introduced subscriptions as they recognise that providing updates on a permanent basis like that is financially unsustainable, particularly for a very small cottage business. In the past I have questioned the subscription model and with these matters in mind, I have tried to introduce it as fairly as possible, possibly to some commercial detriment. We rely on subscriptions to version 4 in order to support maintenance and future development and are very pleased that so many of our existing customers understand that and are supporting us through this difficult transition to a different business model. Thank you for your custom.

Still working for me

I have been using this app to show off my portfolio to clients for almost 5 years. It is a super app and does most of what i would like it to do. If I used just the reviews on here to decide whether or not to buy it, I definitely would have gone else where. I recently upgraded my ipad and cos of apples continued development (kudus to them) the app stopped me making any edits. I sent rocket labs an email, got no reply after two days. So I tried the forum and he was on the case like a hungry lion. I was very impressed and confident the problem with the new security update by apple and the Foliobook app will be resolved in a couple of days. Many thanks in advance for your assistance, and keep up the good work.

Poor information

I could see on one review that Foliobook 4 is expensive and I have to cancel 24 hours before renewal. I have seen no indication of cost anywhere soI am anxious you are going to take money for an app I just wanted to trial. No indication of how to cancel and not present in my App Store subscription list.

I am sorry that you had problems with this. Apple require us to provide full details of the process of trial and cancellation and this wording appears on the subscription form in the app. Also the cost of the subscription appears on the subscription page. In addition, at the time of subscribing iOS will provide a two step set of confirmation dialogs providing information about cancellation and permitting cancellation at that point, and you should also receive an email sent to your AppleID containing the full information about the trial and how to cancel, including a suitable link. I can't understand why you didn't see this information, and why none of these safeguards were able to help, but you can request a refund from Apple if you were charged and require one. To unsubscribe or cancel the trial can be done at any time from the settings app on the iPad and is very quick and easy.
