Ratings and Reviews
As with every new FM iteration, it takes a little getting used to.
I’m UK based and have been playing ‘Champ’ since 1995.
So far, my pros:
- The attributes are similar to last years. This makes my evaluation of a player quicker and easier;
- Star Rating highlighted right in the player profile;
- Offloading unwanted players is quick;
- The ability to move a player to the reserves temporarily (ie. to regain match fitness) is a really good idea;
- Transfer market (and attributes) feels familiar - this is a positive;
- Match Summaries now give you a performance rating out of 10 - I like this as it gives me a quantifiable gauge of my teams performance;
- I’m running a huge number of leagues. Performance is great.
And my cons, thus far:
- The match experience is going to take a lot of getting used to (why is the ball so small? On a bright pitch it’s virtually camouflaged and I can’t follow play. Why is the score so small? So many questions);
- The news feed has disappeared - this is a big step back and requires lots of searching to find a notification (ie. about upcoming opposition) from the past;
- The design overall feels like a step backward (sorry - just my opinion - I’ll probably get used to it!);
- Match summaries are the only time I have to go top left to progress my screen - this is annoying (not just on this version - but on previous FMH’s...but they could have sorted this).
It currently feels like a step back. Maybe (hopefully) I’ll get used to it.
Like a lot of people, I’ve been playing Football Manager on mobile and PC for many years now. Previously FM Mobile has felt like very little change bar the squad updates, which I’m happy to pay for. However, this year the introduction of several new features adds a great amount of depth to the game. And the increased character interaction is something many of us have been calling for for a while, so to see it introduced is great. There are a few minor bugs that still haven’t been fixed like not being able to interact with Loan players ect, but the bulk of the game is great. What I am slightly disappointed on is the lack of tactical expansion. It’s FMM 2020 and there is still no option to set how intense you want to press which is a shame, and you are still limited to a handful of attack commands. Apart from that I’ve enjoyed playing it a lot and look forward to further playing it in the future.
Had a few hours today been eagerly awaiting this game since pre order been player of these since champo days circa 93 i love this game already and think it is definitely an improvement in last years the 2d match looks better although the ball is a touch smaller and can be hard to follow this is a minor thing for me but it moves more fluidly than last seasons so do the players, all in all a brilliant game especially if your a lover of FM obviously it isn’t nearly as in depth as the pc versions but it couldn’t possibly be on mobile device more than worth the money will be spending many hours on this good luck work trying to get much out of me for a good while... update got to say im disappointed to see the germany national team is still fake players also juventus are called zebre ???
