Get instant musical ideas at a push of a button with Fortamento - a simple and effective music idea creator, capable of generating 4 bars of chord progression and melody, with the option to edit the idea and save the result.
To make life easier, there’s an option to export the tunes as MIDI files for further work in your favorite Digital Audio Workstation software or MIDI sequencer.

Exactly what I’ve been looking for
It took me a long time to find an app like this, I don’t know where it was hiding but it should certainly have a higher profile than it does.
This is really a brilliant way to write music for those who aren’t super comfortable with music theory and a great way to get some inspiration for those who are. Just randomly generate a melody (and accompanying chords) and you instantly have what is, more often than not, a brilliant starting point for you to flesh out and add your own touch.
While this app is fantastic as it is, I sincerely urge the developers to continue to work on it and I’m sure they could easily justify an increase in the price to reward their efforts, excellent job so far.

Great app for musicians ear training
This app is so flexible and the sound quality is so good that it is ideal for ear training. Just configure it to the difficulty you need and let it generate melodies for dictation. Use the melody edit function to play and loop a bar. You check the sounds against the edit grid. Perfect.
