The FreeStyle LibreLink app is approved for use with FreeStyle Libre and FreeStyle Libre 2 system sensors. You can check your glucose by scanning your sensor with your phone. Now FreeStyle Libre 2 system sensor users can get automatic glucose readings in the FreeStyle LibreLink app, updated every minute and also receive alarms when your glucose is low or high. [1] [2]
You can use the FreeStyle LibreLink app to:
* View your current glucose reading, trend arrow and glucose history
* Receive low or high glucose alarms with FreeStyle Libre 2 system sensors [2]
* See reports, such as Time in Range and Daily Patterns
* Share your data with your doctor and family, with your permission [3]
SMARTPHONE COMPATIBILITY
Compatibility may vary between phones and operating systems. Learn more about compatible phones at http://FreeStyleLibre.com.
USING YOUR APP AND READER WITH THE SAME SENSOR
Alarms can only be issued on your FreeStyle Libre 2 reader or your phone (not both). To receive alarms on your phone, you must start the sensor with the app. To receive alarms on your FreeStyle Libre 2 reader, you must start the sensor with your reader. Once the sensor has been started with the reader, you can also scan that sensor with your phone.
Remember that the app and reader do not share data with each other. For complete information on a device, scan your sensor every eight hours with that device; otherwise, your reports will not include all your data. You can upload and view data from all of your devices on LibreView.com.

The software (this app) does not do justice to the amazing product the Libre 2 is. It falls short of very expected features that can be seen on any other diabetes tracking app (that don’t even have hardware being dependent on them like the libre is). For starters, there’s no Apple Health support, meaning if you want to get accurate data on the LibreLink app to share with your doctor for reviewing, you have to manually type it in, even exercise, which the iPhone automatically tracks, especially Smartwatch users. There’s no option to change units of measurement. No option for nfc scanning unless you invoke it specifically through the app. Graphic visualization is there, but it’s very counter-intuitive for users as the graphs don’t have a scrollable graph, and different graphic interpretations are accessed from a hidden menu. I mean, I get it, this is not a design oriented company to have good visuals, but why wouldn’t they take advantage of HealthKit APIs to give the option to visualize the data in an alternative app? And there’s no Apple Watch app or even complications. It’s really disappointing that users need to rely on not approved open-source community apps like xdrip4ios to get basic functionality, that Abbott with an income stream from Libre sensors fails to deliver.

Absolute game changer for diabetes control

Have only been using this for 10 days so far and my God it changes the life of a diabetic! No more going to bed with the little feeling of worry that you'll wake up face to face with a paramedic, or going out for the evening and guessing what your blood sugar is on as you haven't got your kit with you, speaking from a human perspective the above is something diabetics have to deal with and the Libre changes all of that. So impressed with it and couldn't be without it now. Yes it's not the cheapest, but its a small price to pay for the better quality of life you get. The ONLY gripe I have, and I'm certain a simple update would rectify this, is the alarms going off! Yes 3am, the alarm goes off, fantastic! I have my dose of sugar and go back to sleep. 5 minutes late the alarm goes off again!! And then again and again! Bloods don't instantly go up it takes a while! Please please please PLEASE add a snooze function to the alarm function for 20 mins or so! This will enable the blood result to rise above hypo level and stop the alarm waking myself and my wife up repeatedly! If this is possible please consider it as this is such a welcome bit of kit! Keep up the good work. 👍

I have type 1 diabetes and was recommended to have this by my nurse. This app overall is okay but when you scan it 50% of the time says it’s unavailable and you have to wait 10 minutes but after those 10 minutes it says to wait another ten minutes .😡Also I tried clicking a few buttons that normally work but it didn’t work. Things to improve: Buttons The amount of times it says the glucose readings are unavailable UPDATE: I found out apparently the unavailable readings are because my glucose is changing rapidly (mainly because I’m a child and I am very active) But if you don’t agree to their privacy policy your kicked out of the app/account (I haven’t actually decided to agree yet (must check with my dad)) UPDATE I put a sensor in 18:36 on the 17th and the next day it hurt when I moved my arm. Today 00:13 I was having constant low readings like 3.1, 3.0mmol/L I wasn’t lying on it and then after that it said my sensor is not working and I have to replace it DEVS respond to some negative reviews at least cause we all like positive reviews from developers point of view but negative matter (unless you want more negative reviews) And I am starting to suspect you are using copy and paste for the response. please please please reread all the reviews people edit them. you may find edited reviews on ones you have already responded to so try and send another response or edit yoursThanks

I’ve been using this since October 25. Initially it was great ( my blood sugar tends to run on the low side) so the alarm would alert me when it was getting low and I could take action. HOWEVER in the last 3 months I’ve had 3 sensors that won’t hold the connection and I have to keep scanning the sensor for a reading ( not always convenient). That in itself isn’t a problem but what is a problem is that because there’s isn’t a constant reading the alarm doesn’t work leaving me constantly worried that I may hypo( I often don’t get a warning of a hypo - part of the reason this was recommended ). For something that was so reliable it could end up being quite dangerous. Please get it sorted out. UPDATED REVIEW Having been in contact with Abbotts I would say that their customer service is excellent. They have replaced the 3 sensors that didn’t work and also sent a sensor reader which will help if I have more sensors that don’t work as the alarms can be set on that. So I’m very grateful for their prompt action and help with this. I have therefore updated my review to take this into account. Hopefully they will soon have an update for iPhones.
