Freeways 4+

This game desperately needs some quality of life improvements. An undo button or a way to delete existing roads is sorely missing. It would also be nice if the map screen gave you some indication which segments you’ve done the best on and which need more work, or just which ones you haven’t unlocked maps on yet. It would be great to know your current and best scores for each segment as well. It says something about how fun the game is though that even after having to restart the level for the fifth time because you’ve fudged a road segment or something has connected up strangely, you still keep going back to play it!

It is fun, but a simple undo button would remove so much of the frustration. The tracking is very good but comes at the cost of being too unforgiving and works against optimising. The lack of undo would make more sense if there was a time pressure that boosted your score. Such as giving more points for getting an interchange done quickly and would encourage being content with a slightly imperfect game rather than rather than discourage retries of levels

I really enjoyed this game, but it could easily be much better. The user interface is not friendly at all. If you’re near the top or the bottom of the screen, you bring up your phone shortcuts. If you press the button to build a bridge, it will sometimes draw a straight line from where you’re building a road to the button you tried to press. Most of these issues could actually be conferred with an “undo” button. There are also a couple of levels, which refuse to say they’re finished, when they clearly are.
