Description

Froggipedia, an engaging, interactive, powerful constructive learning Apple AR which helps explore and discover the unique life cycle and intricate anatomical details of a frog.
It is a sterling example of how AR technology has moved leaps and bounds.
The app provides an immersive and engaging experience which elaborates on each phase of the life cycle of a little amphibian called the frog.
Froggipedia helps us to observe the life cycle of a frog, such as how it turns from a single celled egg in water to a tadpole which in turn metamorphoses into a froglet and eventually a full grown frog. We can further dissect and observe the complex structure of its various organ systems right on our iOS devices using an Apple pencil or your finger.
Thus we get best of both worlds as we get to successfully observe and learn about the structure of a frog and yet cause no harm to life. A fun quiz in the end helps in absorbing the knowledge gained through this innovative app called Froggipedia.

Froggipedia has been awarded "iPad App of the Year" 2018 and is now available in the following languages: Japanese, Chinese Traditional, Chinese Simplified, Korean, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, Latin Spanish.

Editors’ Notes

Remember when you dissected a frog in science class? Froggipedia is kind of like that—except without the overwhelming smell of formaldehyde. This immersive biology lesson walks you through the 17-week transformation of a frog from single-celled egg to wriggling tadpole to fully formed amphibian.

Great use of augmented reality to educate

Great app showcasing how AR can be used in education. I’m looking forward to medical versions for training doctors.

Developer Response ,

Appreciate you like Froggipedia! Always a pleasure to be of service. Stay tuned for the upcoming.

Wonderfully engaging but lacking in breadth.

Highly enjoyable and educational, and super use of AR. Especially when outside next to a pond!

However, for App of the Year 2018 there is a distinct paucity of content, even taking it fairly leisurely, 15 minutes will be all you need to explore everything. It doesn't live up to the -pedia expectations. (Correct me if I am wrong and haven't found a library of other frogs to learn about for example.)

That said, it brings back the early days of iPad when I would show family members what it could do, and the 15 minutes are repeated when demonstrating the app to friends and family.
