If only

There is a lot of good in this, and some of the copious information is excellent, but I have two major complaints. For a paid app of this kind why is there no search facility whereby the user can search by name? It would save all the hassle of scrolling down every time you want to find a particular fungus. Besides, many fungi have folk names as well as botanical ones and this would be a handy cross reference. The facility to search by cap type, stem type, etc is good but very primitive. And why oh why oh why, for all this money, is there only one pic per fungus? Look at Coprinus comatus - just an overripe (inky) specimen. Why not some colour pics of spore prints too? The selection is limited too: Lycoperdon (an excellent and almost all-edible genus) is only represented by three species: no giant puffball! Not that you could have found it if you had only known it by that name anyway, because you cannot search. Much improvement needed, please, for this investment!

Crashes on start up

The information doesn't say whether this is uk or us or how many species were included but took a gamble as I was unable to email developer (I don't have an outlook account and no email address provided). I still have no idea as the app crashes within a second of start up. Have tried re-starting phone and no joy. It's a shame as the app looked quite interesting and useful. Please either fix the problem or provide a refund.

UPDATE
The latest version works (!) and whilst I've not used it to identify any fungi yet it looks really detailed and scentific. Definitely now worth a look

Great App - Works Perfectly

I wrote earlier that I was experiencing program crashes on my iPhone 3Gs with version 1.0.0 of the program. I contacted the programmer to report the fault and he emailed me back straight away to tell me that a bug had been found with running the program on the 3Gs iPhone only. He kept me informed of progress and advised me when the new version was available, literally a few days from reporting the fault.

That is GREAT customer service, thank you.

This is a brilliant little app and a useful field guide, definately worth the money.
