G-SHOCK Connected 4+

While the watch is capable of syncing with atomic radio signals the app is a useful backup and checks that syncing is occurring. The app is also an easy way to set up most of the watch functions - though you have to set up the DD/MM order on the watch itself (which isn’t well documented either in the manual). I have 3 G-Shocks and you can label each one which separately links to the app. The app also helpfully tells you how to use the functions on the watch. Other than the order of date and month point noted already the app is excellent and easy to use.

This could be so much better - but as reported blue tooth only seems to work properly when the App is open and on screen. Since the last update, on the fabulous GR-B100 at least, the app is all but useless as the App more consistently closes down when running in the background and fails to pick up a BT message from the watch (even though the iPhone shows the watch physically connected) so auto time update ostensibly only works when the App is open and live on screen! And displaying movement history with grouped data points now closes the App completely....

...great shame as the time piece is stunning and the concept first class as is the interactive guide, but it’s all pointless if the basic functionality required to get the time keeping correct doesn’t work! CASIO: Please (at least) stop the App going in to a torpor like state whilst in running in the background and you have the makings of a great App

I was going to give this app, only one star. I was having so much trouble trying to get the app to work without graying out most of the options. It turns out that having my iPad and iPhone close by caused a problem if they both had their Bluetooth enabled. Once I switched off one of the Bluetooth’s, I could use the app on the available iOS device. Now I am fully in control of my watch. Brilliant, that was the whole point of buying a Bluetooth watch.
So as a note to casio. it might be worth mentioning this in your user guide as it is extremely frustrating brand-new watch and think that there’s something wrong with it.
