Galaxy Genome is an open world sci-fi space simulator.
You'll be able to upgrade your ship and customize every component as you hunt, explore, fight, mine, smuggle, trade and survive in the cutthroat galaxy. Follow the main story or do side missions.
This game gives you the ability to feel real space exploration. The entirety of the Milky Way re-created at its full galactic proportions.

At the beginning of the game you are a pilot of a small ship. Financial struggle forces you to start transporting contraband. Certainly, it will lead to you being in trouble with the law someday. But at some point in your life you are forced to make a deal with the authorities of the system. And that is when your dangerous space adventure begins.

- Free-form play allows everyone to choose their own path, becoming an angry pirate, a peaceful trader, an explorer, a bounty hunter, or a mix between these roles.
- More than 30 different and customizable ships.
- The game has a vibrant story and side quests.

Compact yet huge

Really happy I came across this. Unlike I originally thought where I would mainly be just zooming around the universe, shooting ships and dodging missiles, there is a lot of technical play behind it.
You need to learn to manage and prioritise your power output, such as to your thrusters, shields, weapons, life support etc for different scenarios, and fighting battles isn’t really just skill based. A lot of the time it’s as you can imagine a space battle between ships like on Star Trek or something but with a bit more darting about, who has the best shields, weapons and equipment will win.
In some scenarios it’s best to just to run away from enemy ships/battles. The game even goes as far as if a pirate is after your cargo and you don’t like your odds, if you haven’t attacked yet, you can drop your cargo and hope they go for that instead of you.

Initially it can seem overwhelming looking at all the menus but luckily there is a quite in depth tutorial teaching you the basics and how to get by. There is also a further readable info page you can check anytime you want to learn something you’re not sure about.

One of the first main missions you do while in the tutorial is a battle so you’re not thrown in the deep end, but after that I advise trying to keep to decent security star systems and transporting cargo or something like that for a few missions until you’ve got some decent upgrades, as with some enemies, to me, the balance seems a bit off and even in the first few areas/galaxy’s you can get taken out very quickly. It once happened to me whilst I was causally sat near a star refuelling my ship, another ship just drove up and blew me up in a few shots which was, I’m not gonna lie, ever so slightly annoying.
There are security ships (space police lol) and they do help out if you’re in a system with them, but also if you’re in the wrong you can get a fine you have to pay, if you don’t pay and carry on though they’ll attack you.

I can’t comment too much on the story as of yet because I’m not that far into it but it seems like I’ll get many hours out of this and I’m looking forward to exploring and seeing where it goes.
For saving the game there are three slots and cloud, and you can can save anytime so it’s good for pickup and play, but I’d advise saving to the cloud regularly as the three saves can be wrote over quickly while playing but the cloud save doesn’t change until you decide to overwrite it.

No joystick

Ripped off
Tutorial stuck on repeating the instruction “use virtual joystick in bottom left had corner”. But there is no virtual joystick at all anywhere on the screen. Consequently never got to play at all..

Developer Response ,

The virtual joystick is automatically hidden if it is inactive. Just try to touch the left bottom corner of the screen, there is a fairly large touch area. You can even tap over the fuel and temperature labels.
