Gallery: Coloring book & decor 4+

I love this game and I’m so glad I found it. There’s so much content and lots to do, but you don’t power through and get to the end quickly because there are built in breaks - you have to wait for your energy to replenish, which does take a long time but it means you can do other things than just play the game all day. Also, the advert for it was not misleading at all - unlike quite a lot of the other renovating games (that are match-3). And instead of being match-3 mini games to earn stars so you can renovate, you colour instead which is a lot more fun! You can’t lose, so you don’t feel like you’re wasting your time, and there are cool power ups too that speed it up! Admittedly there are a lot of adverts, but the great thing is that most of the time you get to choose whether you want to watch an advert to get free content like power ups or coins - it’s rare that there is an advert that is unprompted and you don’t get anything. Overall, great game, lots of fun, and well worth the download - especially because you can do well without buying anything with real money!

I’ve never played a colour by numbers game before but now I am, I’m hooked. The house decorating is fun and the couple are quite engaging. I think pictures to paint are probably more geared towards female players but evenso it’s fun to start “painting” a picture and as you’re going along you think “how on earth will those colours make a nice picture?” But they do, mostly. I’d love to “paint” some more male orientated pictures of perhaps classic cars or famous landscapes or sci-fi. A suggestion for future picture sets perhaps. I’d have given this game 5 stars but it is a bit frustrating not being able to save the progress you’ve made on a picture. On a lot of occasions, I’ve been quite a way into a picture or almost finished it and I’ve had to stop playing. Once I’m able to come back to the game I’ve found I’ve got to start from scratch on the picture. It would be great if we could save the progress if we have to close the game and pick up where we left off when we come back to it. It would be a proper tea break and lunchtime game then, instead of just the evening when I can spare a block of time. Also, that would mean I could build up a stash of stars quicker. But that said, it’s still a fun game.

I’ve given it 5 stars because it really is a great game, a great concept, really fun and relaxing too. I love the painting by numbers, I’ve not come across anything like it and I love it. Such a refreshing change from the other house renovation games out there.
The only two negatives, in my opinion, is, first - the levels take too much energy each time, when you can’t afford the in-app purchases to buy more energy you can do two levels, maybe three before having to stop the game which leads onto the second which is the story “to-do” list are asking for too many stars to complete it so the game is very slow moving and therefore over quicker than I’d prefer.
If a level is going to take the 40 energy, that it does, away from the 100, it would be nice if that earned 4 stars, etc... it would make the game more enjoyable and last longer and honestly, I’m more likely to spend on in-app purchases on a game I can play a lot longer than 10/15 minutes at a time.
