Welcome to Gander, the app that helps you save money on your food & grocery shopping whilst substantially reducing food waste.
Who doesn't like eating well for less? One of the best ways to do this is through picking up reduced price food, often marked with a yellow sticker, at a supermarket or convenience store.
Only issue with this is, you have to be in the store to know what food has been yellow stickered and even then it can be difficult to find it ... well that is all about to change with Gander!
Gander is a world first mobile app that displays reduced to clear (often yellow-stickered) food & drink, from local convenience stores and supermarkets in real time! Shopping will never be the same again with delicious reduced food only one swipe away!
Did you know, each year, 1/3 of all food produced is thrown away? At Gander we want to help put an end to food waste, by helping retailers stop avoidable food surplus and waste in the first place.
Reduced to clear food is normally yellow-stickered because it is coming up to its sell by date, it has been over-ordered (we all do it!) or the packaging has some light damage. What does this mean? This food is still PERFECTLY GREAT TO EAT, yet so much still goes to waste.

Real Time - As soon as a convenience store or supermarket yellow-stickers something it will appear on the app. As soon as the food is sold, it is removed. That means what you are seeing is all in real time!
FIND IT – You can browse reduced and discounted food however you want on the Gander app! By location, food type and dietary/preference. We have you covered.
- Have a favourite store, no problem, add it to your favourites and we’ll let you know when they start reducing so you never miss a great discount.
- Found something you like the look of? Add it to your watchlist and be kept informed of if it sells out or there are only a few left. We’ll do this all automatically for you.
COLLECT IT – Found some items you fancy? Rush down to the store to collect them and enjoy paying substantially less money for that same great food!
ENJOY IT – whether you have just bought a meal, ingredients, some discount drinks or actually absolutely anything that those stores have to offer, now it’s time to enjoy it for so many reasons. Cool Idea. But still needs more Stores
Its a very Good Idea, but it needs more stores added to the watchlist. Fortunately where i live. Theres 3 Co-ops on the radius of 10km that use this. But whenever i look at City centres such as Manchester or Leicester. Theres no Stores nearby
Would be great if more Stores got added to the System.
Used to be good
Was good at the start when I first downloaded it. Was able to find some good bargains. The nearby Spar stores have started hiding reduced items now in the back of the store until closing time when the staff themselves buy them to bring home. This renders the app useless. I only realised this as a staff member I know through a friend told me they were doing this. Misleading when you spend money on fuel to drive to a shop to buy items that are showing as available on the app but never instore. These reduced items then disappear from the app when staff go home. Dishonest and wastes customers time. Would be good if more shops were added to the app that didn’t take the items for themselves
Great concept but frequently disappointed
I love the idea of advertising products to reduce waste and get a bargain.
Previously I used the app frequently, as the deals were great. However recently, I have been greatly disappointed. Every time I go to the shop looking for an advertised reduction, it hasn’t been on the shelf. Often the reductions are still on the app hours after I have visited the shop, which shouldn’t be the case if the app is updated ‘real-time’.
This causes wasted journeys and disappointment.
