Good all round sporting app

I’ve been using this app for a number of years now with a Fenix 3 watch. It has improved a lot over that time, and is good at recording a very wide range of sports. It would be nice if you could export data from the app for split times etc and also gpx files. It would also be nice if you could trim a recording via the app for those annoying times when you forget to stop your watch at the end of a swim and record the drive home. Graphing would be more useful if when you zoom in it recalculated averages for the segment shown. This would be particularly helpful for interval training
Apart from these small things though it is pretty d. Route creation is better than it was, although there are much better apps like Footpath for creating routes out there now, which you can them import into this app and then onto your watch.

Only writes data; can't read data

So generally I really like this app. The interface is nice and all that. However, three stars because I find it rather ridiculous that the app only writes data in Apple health but it can't read it + it doesn't even read the information you put into the app:
So today I went running and while running my watch ran out of battery so it only recorded part of my run. Fair enough. So my step count in the app says around 5000 but in Apple health it says around 7500 - which would have met my daily step goal but the app can't read it! Furthermore, I (thankfully) used running apps simultaneously with my running that estimates my calories and distance so I could edit that information in Garmin connect BUT the calorie intake "tab" it doesn't adjust accordingly. So my run says 400 calories because I could adjust it but my "active" calories says only 200. How does that make sense? Like why is the exercise even adjustable when it doesn't get translated into the the rest of the apps' readings? And the non-reading of intensity minutes also really bugs me. Fix that and it would make so much more sense and be so much better!

I love my Fenix 5X

My wife and I both have a Fenix 5S/5X respectively. The watch/Garmin App records all the important metrics of running and other cardio gym sessions very accurately. These are well laid out and easily reviewed within the App.

I easily get 14 days battery life per charge too.
The Garmin Fenix watches are our third fitness tracker watches to date, the previous being Garmin Vivofit HR and the competitor named after a fruit. The latter is overhyped and is nowhere near as good at showing the relevant metrics, requiring numerous Apps to view similar data. Within the Garmin Connect App, all data is easily accessible in one place. The Vivofit HR was OK but it’s not a serious fitness tracker and the strap gave out for both myself and my wife after only about six months.
Both the Garmin Fenix watches and the Garmin Connect App are highly recommended by me, hands down the best option.
