Good with a couple niggles

It’s great having the content and largely have found this to work well - am using over Chromecast. However watching replays it does drop out though, which is frustrating if I’m on the trainer (I find if you quickly stop casting it picks up in the right place on the phone and then I can click cast again so don’t loose my place - bit of an annoying work around in the middle of an interval). I don’t know if this is the WiFi dropping and an issue with the Chromecast or the app. This doesn’t seem to happen when watching live so perhaps if there is a difference in how they work could look at this (does the live stream have a buffer for such dropouts and reply’s don’t?).

It would be great if the app ran straight from Chromecast/Amazon Fire/Apple TV - is this something in the pipeline?

Also something that would be good is when clicking onto a race that is currently live, before anything starts you get an option to watch from start or live - so if I start watching a cyclocross race 40 minutes after the start I don’t accidentally see what’s happening and ruin it.

Thanks for the review and feedback, we'll pass it on to our app team. We're currently working on bringing the app to devices like Amazon Fire sticks so you should see this in the near future!

App not that clear

Whilst having the ability to watch a wealth of races via a reasonably priced subscription is great, the app isn’t that intuitive. There is no specific GCN+ button, navigation of broadcast races isn’t that clear and there is seemingly no list/access to any of the documentaries mentioned. To be honest, as a new subscriber, the app doesn’t really make it clear exactly what GCN+ is and how to access content. Is it the app, or just something you access through the app?

I’m hoping for a tidier, clearer app layout and navigation in the near future.

UPDATE: Thanks for the response. Followed steps given and the GCN+ button has now appeared. Looking forward to an iPad app in the future.

Amazing coverage of women’s racing

Finally feel like I can follow women’s racing properly for the first time with GCN race pass, the coverage on here is so much better than anything else available. I don’t think GCN gets enough credit for how much more accessible they’ve made it. Thank you GCN!

The race pass part of the app is still new and it shows because there’s a few little issues with it - eg I can’t chrome cast the highlights of races where the full race is available. They also seem to overestimate how good their users’ WiFi is as well 😆, loading a lot of news content on app start and auto playing full race coverage whenever you navigate to a race, which can make the app feel very slow. But it’s a really ambitious app and very feature rich, hopefully these small issues will be ironed out soon.

Hi Amy, thanks for your feedback and review. We have a great team working on the racing and the app and we've been working hard to bring more and more coverage of women's racing to GCN+. It's great to see that you've been enjoying this and it's something that we'll keep working on, too. Thanks for the feedback on the app functionality – I'll make sure that this is passed along. All the best, Tom
