I have invested luckily a small amount into my Gemini account, just over £100 in eth and a few other currencies. Upon trying to withdraw my eth to a different wallet, I have been unable to despite following all the correct processes. I withdrew all of my crypto into fiat, to allow me to withdraw all my funds from the app, and have been unable to withdraw my money into my own bank without linking my bank (card details aren’t enough). Even after being in contact with Gemini support who are fairly responsive and helpful, I am still unable to link my bank account and would need to create a new bank account as mine have BLOCKED TRANSFERS TO GEMINI which is a little disconcerting in itself. I am now seemingly left with the choice of forgetting about my money and deleting the app, or creating a whole new bank account with a bank that hasn’t blocked payments to Gemini, and contacting there support in an extremely lengthy and unnecessary process. If you are looking for a reliable crypto application, try Coinbase out as I have had no issues with them, and they have a “very easy to use” app and great support and features.

Opened a Gemini account purely for investing in a coin that wasn’t available on Coinbase. Had a particularly good run and wanted to ‘cash out’. Simply impossible to do. Will not let you add any withdrawal details even though it accepts the details for deposit - just keep going round in circles. Also will not let it link to bank account via plaid - just keeps reaching a dead end even after authorising from bank account end. Said coin has since been listed on Coinbase, so the only way I could get the coin out was by sending to my wallet elsewhere then sending on to Coinbase. Managed to get it but had to pay miner and transaction fees every step of the way but a small price to pay to get it out of Gemini! Customer service non existent - no replies to anything. AVOID.

  • Very buggy app

If it worked properly it would be a good app, but it doesn’t.I’ve tried adding my bank account 5 times now and every time my banking app authorises them but when I’m redirected back to the Gemini app I’m prompted to authorise my account again.I also tried linking a payment card and this worked, I can see the card listed in the app, or at least I can until I try to make a deposit at which point I’m told I need to a a card. There are a few other annoying features I could list, but these are the ones that render the app unusable.

  • CANT WITHDRAW MONEY

Terribly company do not use. Quite happy to take your deposits but when it comes to withdrawing your money it’s virtually impossible. The app and website won’t save your bank details for withdrawal, it will only save for deposit no matter how many times you attempt to add a ‘withdrawing’ account. Which has left me with no other option that to wire transfer. Which I’m skeptical about doing because they’ve already taken money off me several times just to ‘verify’ my bank account. I’ve emailed customer service twice and no reply and I’ve tried reaching out to them on Twitter also no reply. DO NO USE. I would highly recommend Binance as a better a cheaper option.

This company is a scam. Before my mother died, she put £300 into Gemini and began losing money straight away. (This happens and I know capital risks, etc.). I would just like to say how BAD this company is dealing with a death of the account holder. They have quite literally kept the £300 and will not contact me back. I’ve phoned but it won’t work as I’m not in the US, they don’t respond to emails so I’ve lost the money I would have paid for a headstone for her. I’m 23 and should not have to deal with scam companies like this when I’m grieving my dead mother. I would have used very strong language to describe this company but I won’t. DON’T USE THEM & LEARN FROM MY EXPERIENCE.

Gemini is super easy to use and has quickly become one of my new favourite places to buy/sell assets. My only issue is this annoying crypto asset notice I am shown every time I visit the main page or even just opening the app (on mobile and web). There really should be a “do not show again” or an “agree” option for those who have understood it and do not wish to see it again.
