Description
General MIDI Player is an easy way to turn your Mac into an instrument, using its built-in General MIDI support. Starting in version 2, it also plays back type 1 General MIDI files!
You can play the General MIDI instruments using either your mouse, computer keyboard (including support for non-US keyboards), or MIDI device (both hardware and software MIDI devices supported). You can even play along yourself while a General MIDI song plays at the same time. It has a simple, one-screen interface, that will let you start making music with your favorite General MIDI instrument in seconds!

Ratings and Reviews
Neat
Was looking for a small app that I could load up so I could practice on my keyboard, without having start up Logic or Garageband with a new project.
Good Software to Play MIDI keyboard through.
One useful feature would be a function that allows transposing by single semi tones.
This is NOT a General MIDI file player
My own fault I guess - I wanted a neat app to play back MIDI files, but this “player” only works with live input from keyboard, mouse or MIDI instruments.
If only I had clicked on that little “More…” link in the description I would have avoid wasting £1.29 - that’s where it says “PLEASE NOTE - This application is NOT a General MIDI file player!”
Lesson learned!
