A downgrade on 2017s App

The app has lost key functionality from previous years. The ability to see your friends lineup by having their picture appear on the act was really useful, as you could find out where they were whilst at the festival plus it was great for seeing what the group wanted to do each day. The new function allows you to import your friends lineup as you’re own, which doesn’t help distinguish between yours and there’s. Really disappointed that it’s lost it’s best feature. Also when creating your line up, if you click on an act to read about it then go back to the line up, it takes you to the earliest time on the first stage (top left corner) rather than where you were. Meaning you have to scroll back through all stages and times and figure out where you were. Seems like a fundamental bug. Map is also more awkward to use this year.

Absolute rubbish

What has happened to the app from 2 years ago? This appears as if a new version was supposed to be made available but you can’t get it working and have reverted to the old one - but a terrible version that doesn’t work very well. Half the acts don’t even come up with tracks or descriptions. How are you supposed to choose to add them? The line up feature is terrible. You used to see your line up along the top bar along with cross overs. Now you keep having to scroll down through the stages to see listings. You can’t share your line up properly. What’s the point of a link to someone else’s app? It used to seamless and appear on your app when shared. I keep trying to think why EE would benefit from sending you through these links that don’t even work properly. There’s either some advertising related reason or simply the fact that the app wasn’t ready and you’ve reverted to an old version. If at least you released the 2017 version that worked properly it would be better than this. The map is not very good either. Please for god’s sake, sort this out before Glasto starts.

Hard to use & missing basic features

Unfortunately this year’s glasto app is missing some pretty crucial functionality and therefore becomes clunky and a chore to use.

- No share with friends option
- No landscape mode to see more acts in the planner
- No zoom out to see more acts on the planner
- No clash warning system
- No printable option (to file or otherwise)
- No send as text option
- Masses of missing information on the listed acts. Most entries only show the name of the act and nothing more
- No notes option
- missing £5 lunch deal finder (something Glasto have done since 2015, but they’re not all easy to find)
- No find my tent/car option
- No route finder (to get to one place to another)

The absolute worst offence is that you simply can’t use it as a planner like you can do with any physical Guardian copy because you can’t get enough of the acts on on screen. You constantly have to scroll for days back and forth and then god forbid if you look at one of the entries to get the zero extra information on the act, the app doesn’t always put you back where you were exactly so you lose your place!

Stick to the physical copy everyone. This is a waste of everybody’s time.
