Poor game

This game does not even have the concept of ZOC! My tanks can go directly across enemy's defence line.

Great game!

This game is spot on! Reliable, fast, easy to learn, very well polished.

Pros:
* Great graphics, perfect for the type of game
* 4 campaigns, most with over a dozen scenarios
* Legion mode allows more customised games (eg. choose starting faction)
* Each faction has it's own unique unit designs

Cons:
* Wish the medals were cheaper. Some practically almost impossible to complete without them.

Tips:
* Invest in some generals for your main tanks and artillery

Yes, It is a Great Game!

I bought this app probably as it came out as I’ve always liked strategy games. Didn’t think much of it or didn’t give it a proper play so deleted it. Just a week ago I reviewed my purchases and thought I’d give it another go. I write thoroughly impressed. It covers the 2nd WW and later wars and gameplay is easily learned. Legion mode is really the scenarios which are to me the guts of the game. You can pick any commander on either side so replay ability is sky high. Campaign mode is tough as there is a time limit so its hard going. I imagine that gamers doing well in campaign must be making in app buys which is expensive. The only faults I can find are no real help or hints, though there is 2 short tutorials. Hints flash across the screen before game start but are away too quickly to read properly. Second there is no clear indication of which units the player commands, ie no colored bases - you have to keep clicking to see units though eventually you remember - but its easy at game start to miss a unit and one unit could mean losing an advantage in a battle. As for Zones of Control I’ve played games that used these but they were only invented by the game design team. In real life Blitzkrieg Panzers rolled right through enemy lines and cut off huge enemy units and that’s what this game lets you do. I’ve also got the companion game Pacific War. Don’d know if I’ll write a separate review for that Because this will cover it. Oh I do know that units recover strength in city hexes and that this is the longest review I’ve ever typed so I hope it helps someone out there.
