Free UK walking routes, personalised to you. Discover walks nearby.
Go Jauntly is a free UK walking app with thousands of curated, photo-led routes and an ever-growing number of ways to explore green routes across cities, towns and parks throughout the UK.
We've just rebuilt the app from the ground up. A new App Home learns what you like and surfaces walks, nearby parks and green spaces, and quick shortcuts back to wherever you left off. Search is smarter too: find walks by distance, dog-friendly, car-free, wheel-friendly or family-friendly filters.
Photo-led walks are carefully curated with rich local context: history, nature, heritage and hidden gems woven into the route. No generic GPS tracking. Just genuinely good walks, beautifully described.
Our Green Routes algorithm (UK and Ireland) creates dynamic, map-based walking routes around parks and green spaces, with route suggestions now also starting near local train stations and bus stops.
Whether you're looking for a quick local loop or a new city to explore on foot, Go Jauntly has a route for every mood and every pace.

Finally exploring my own doorstep
dj_rol
Been using this to find local walks and it's genuinely brilliant. The routes feel tried and tested rather than algorithmically cobbled together. Someone's actually walked them and bothered to share them, which makes a real difference when you're navigating somewhere new.The points of interest are what keep me coming back. I've walked past the same spots for years and had no idea what I was missing. Ancient woodland, hidden viewpoints, bits of local history — it adds a layer to a walk that makes it feel worthwhile rather than just exercise.Couldn't recommend it more if you want to get outside but have run out of ideas. There's more on your doorstep than you think.

Hi DJ Rol, thank you so much for such a wonderful and wholesome review. It means so much to our little team. We're so pleased you've been able to discover new places and spaces and had fun along the way! That's everything we hoped and dreamed of when we created the app. May every walk be worthwhile for you. Thank you again! x
Not bad.. needs some adjustment

Ok, so great things.. I found some things I didn’t know existed! Even close to my house. Some good nearby walks etc. But also, some walks that are dangerous (despite saying mostly flat!). I’ll explain more below. This app has potential to be great, and I have confidence that they will adjust it in the future. It suggests 7 circular routes from your house (of different lengths). Would be nice if those routes updated though, as I’ve had all 7 same routes now every time I open the app. (Despite completing a few of them). It’s also good at showing nearby routes (but you need to drive to them first). As you walk you need to leave the app open to follow the line. The instructions could be provided a step earlier, like when walking on Google maps. As unfortunately on this app, you only get the next step as you literally walk on it.Drains the battery leaving phone on too.But what concerned me more was a suggestion to walk along a dirt track through a forest. Others have walked it in the past, but it’s very over grown and at one point a steep hill, then arrived at a barbed wire fence. Hmm.. I think it might of been a route in the past, and no longer is. I used app to vote down, but it felt dangerous. Another suggestion says walk down a road with no footpath.I’m hopeful that these slight issues will be fixed. Suggestion: add an Apple Watch app too, so you don’t need to leave iPhone screen on, and instead Apple Watch can tell you left, right etc as you approach.

Hi Glenfield, glad you found the app. Did you know that you can edit the location of the "routes for you" collection? That way you can change some of the walk suggestions. You're right that we need to refresh it. It's still in beta but it's good to know people are using it and finding new things. This makes our heart sing! We defo want an Apple Watch app too. And audio directions! We are a small self-funded team so this kind of feedback is so vital. We are really keen to make a great app and are definitely going to be working on integrating the feedback to date and keeping the app in tip-top shape. Thank you again. Love from GJ x

Valgrind
I bought the full version of this app whilst on holiday in North Wales. There was a great range of walks that seemed to be clearly described. The weather turned really bad so didn’t get to use them but was looking forward to using the app to help me explore my home area. Unfortunately once back home it has no walks in my area at all. There is one approx 30 mins drive and that is (quite literally) a pub crawl round some quite nasty pubs. There are a few countryside walks approx 40 mins drive away and the rest are an hour or more. I could of found walks that distance away myself. I’ve since had a look at other apps that seem to of managed to find quite a few decent walks within a reasonable distance (that aren’t pub crawls). So I’ve basically paid £20 for something that I haven’t actually used and probably never will.Edit: I have applied for a refund through Apple but of course I am outside of the 14 days so it was immediately declined, so the fact that I’ve been ill is irrelevant to them.

Hey Valgrind, thanks for downloading the app and upgrading, we really appreciate it although we understand that you feel unhappy with that now and we’re sorry for that. Have you got any other holidays coming up? Hopefully you’ll be able to use the app’s premium features then too. We’re a self-funded, tech for good venture, to try and help get more people walking. We want the app to remain free so we’re accessible to as many people as possible but are super grateful when people like yourselves help us to cover the costs of running the app by upgrading for a month or longer like you. You can of course continue using all the free features like the walking map and ourselves and the community are adding more walks to the app all the time. If you fancy it, do email us over at hi@gojauntly.com and let us know whereabouts in the UK you are based and we’ll set about prioritising your region. Thanks again for leaving us some feedback. Take care!
