Great Puzzles

Fantastic puzzles, but a little buggy. Nothing that will stop you enjoying or learning the fantastic game of go.

Looks great with a lovely UI. Particularly like being able to continue working through the problem after I have failed. Something other applications do not have. Would be great to be able to do this when I have soled a puzzle too, as sometimes it's a fluke.

Great work thanks

Almost great, but flawed

The user interface is very nice and easy to use. It does have some issues - sometimes the problems have some explanatory text that's too long for the two line space, and then there seems to be no way to read it. But the really big issue is the way the problem sets are organised. Each one contains 500 problems, but instead of having easy sets and hard sets, every set contains some problems at every difficulty level. So as a beginner I paid £2.99 for about 15 problems that are appropriate to my level, together with 485 that are way too hard. If I were a pro I would probably be annoyed with having to buy 485 easy problems to get 15 that are challenging. If this were changed it would be great despite the minor bugs, but as it is it feel like a waste of money.

Well produced but unfinished

A thought out app with a good looking and original board. Unfortunately more work is needed to tidy up the app's rough edges.

The problems often come with a commentary. The iPhone 6 screen is regularly too small to render this meaning that the commentary is cut short or flows out of its container.

Problems are presented depending upon your performance. Some comments that come with beginner problems are too cryptic to be useful. A player who understood them would already be too strong to be presented with the problem to begin with!

Finally, the hint button sometimes confuses things. If you have already made a poor move then that is not made clear. When you haven't, all sorts of strange symbols are presented which are never explained.

This app is so close to being excellent. I hope the authors finish it soon.
