GocycleConnect 4+

I have just spent £4000 on my G4i. One of the selling points was the app which, I was lead to believe, included a display showing all the stuff you "needed to know" in landscape mode on my phone which would act as a real time information display when strapped to the dashboard.
Well it doesn't. It's missing entirely.
The Bluetooth keeps disconnecting. I have to go through the laborious process of searching for a Gocycle as if it was an initial set up when I want to change anything.
The G4i defaults to lights on (not the daytime running lights) after switching off. I don't want the lights on while riding on a sunny day. Every time the machine is switched on I have to go through the rigmarole of connecting to my phone just to turn the lights off. Very annoying.
The engineering on the bike is first class. I love the design. But the reliance on an app which is rubbish spoils the experience. Don't buy one of these bikes until Gocycle have got their act together with the app. I also had to replace the original paper thin tyres after two punctures in five miles. Such a shame, because this could be such a great little bike.

It is a shame Gocycle did not have the app properly coded to show all it will ultimately do when they released it. All we have is a front page that says little other than mode, total miles covered and whether your light is on. Incidentally you need to keep switching the front light off in the app when you open it. I would have thought that having advance knowledge that some changes may be needed for compliance, although no other app provider has had such issues, when the current temporary version was released Gocycle would be well on the way to release the full version. It has now been quite a few weeks and no sign of it. Even the picture showing what we will see in landscape mode has been removed from the App Store.

I get that this was a rushed update but you’ve taken what was an okay app to a completely pointless one. The dashboard was a key part so why release the new app when it’s clearly not ready? All I can do now is turn my light on and off, switch between ride modes and see the mileage. No more speedo and no more trip meter. I really don’t see the point. Can you please just put it back to how it was and then release the update when it’s actually ready?
