Godzilla Defense Force 12+

Love it

I’m a huge Godzilla fan so I was really interested in a Godzilla idle game. Graphics are interesting, gameplay is simple but fun. I don’t really care about watching ad after ad to improve my chances because I love the gameplay so much. Unfortunately this game does murder my battery but it’s worth it for me. Kinda wish the auto tap was more of a permanent thing (even if it was an in-app purchase) but I still love it.

One thing I really would love to see is the Legendary monsters (e.g. Godzilla 2014, King Ghidora and Mothra 2019). From the looks of it I can tell this game is more focused on the Japanese version of the monsters, but I’d still quite like to see the more recent versions. To be honest I’d even be happy to see Zilla from 1998 despite how bad that movie was.

Almost perfect

Last time I tried playing it wouldn’t let me finish downloading the game as a bug. That’s been patched thankfully and honestly I really love this game. Sadly some things seem reliant on ads and I just wish there was a option for no ads. Like a £5-10 payment like other apps that still allow ad bonuses without having to sit through the ads themselves. This would really ease gaining the Boosts if a Kaiju or Godzilla is too strong and the odd rank progression of the auto tap that slowly lasts longer but resets at midnight making you bound to ads sometimes for the “tap screen x hundred times” and quickly gaining money for the better weapons when you unlock a new area before or after Time Travel. Especially since there’s almost always 2-3 things asking if you want to watch an ad.

All that said, I am delighted to see there’s no pop ups. Those kind of ads are honestly the worst and I’m glad the creator saw fit to not do that nonsense like other app developers have. It’s almost a perfect idle game, but the fact there’s no option to purchase an adblock and it’s meaning that any bonus or needed help forces you to sit through an ad or three kinda spoils it a little bit.

Real good game

To start, Im actually still enjoying this game after having it for a while which is rare with my short app game attention span. The graphics are mostly smooth and pretty good with a wide degree of monsters which range through a lot of the movies. I only plead for the monsters of 2014 and 2019 as there are some true classics in there that deserve a spot.

However, I have one major problem which is the game is extremely repetitive and requires a lot of commitment to continue spending hours fighting the one same monster just to do the exact same thing 5 minutes after beating the previous one. This also ties in to the amount of ads the game offers you for supplies which I don’t mind to be honest. Just some sort of difference in fighting from time to time maybe when you fight Godzillas or something.
