Golfshot Plus 4+

I’m fortunate to have been a user of Golfshot for 12 years and paid once for an app that is still paying back in full , now I believe there’s a monthly membership but if I was purchasing a new I still would !!
The detail and accuracy on your mobile device ( or watch ) will be as good if not better than a GPS standalone function ….. and plenty cheaper !!
That all said I’ve contacted the support team within the last 24hrs with an issue I had with a golf course overhead GPS details being missing and these were resolved within TWO HOURS and that was with three different emails !!!!!
A lot of companies would do well in looking at their customer support as it’s top notch !

I love this app, I use it everyone I go golfing and find the distances accurate and the flyovers amazing on courses I’m unfamiliar with. I am by no means a professional but casually play with friends and colleagues and this app keeps me on the straight and narrow. The pro version is worth it for detailed distances on Apple Watch and club suggestion.

The only problem comes when you try to book tee times through the app there are so many courses missing it’s not even funny. For example I live in St. Andrews and cannot book any of the 7 courses there and struggle with lots in the area such as the Dukes, kingsbarns, Craig, Anstruther, Charleton or Earlsferry.

I have been GolfShot pro subscriber for a number of years and love the application, its functionality and the user interface. However, the recent upgrade which included WHS changes rendered the scoring functionality unusable. The application automatically calculate playing handicap, but fails to recognise handicap adjustments applicable for various competitions or variations to WHS in certain countries. As such, the playing handicap calculation is very often incorrect and there is no easy way to set the correct handicap for the round. Can we please have an option to turn the automatic playing handicap calculation off, so we can set the correct handicap for each round manually.

We have recently released our new and improved Average to Par feature. This means that Golfshot and Average to Par follows the latest World Handicap System guidelines. This does change how the Average to Par in your settings is calculated and also how your course handicap is calculated. With the retired system, CONGU, your exact handicap was rounded for use as a course handicap - IE the slope and rating were not figured into creating a course handicap. With the new World Handicapping System for GB&I, the slope is now figured into your course handicap calculations. Golfshot automatically calculates your course handicap.

For GB and I, the automated course handicap calculator is a little bit different than the rest of the world.

For the correct course handicap calculation we recommend going to settings > account > Average to Par > make sure to enter your exact handicap index here and change the handicap style to “Other” > press save.

Please only enter your exact handicap index into settings as Golfshot automatically calculates a course handicap for you for each round using the slope of the tee chosen. Please email us at support@golfshot.com for more help.
