Love, love, love, but...
This is such a great app, so easy to navigate and search brands on the go while shopping to see how ethical they are against the three areas of labour, animals, and environment. If a brand has a low rating the app suggests alternative, similar brands with better ratings.
This has changed the game for me in terms of how I shop. I don’t buy anything until I’ve done a quick search on Good On You to find out more about the brand.
My only less positive feedback is that the brands on the app are limited. The high street stores are all there, but lots of others are missing. Further, you can request that Good On You evaluate a brand but I’ve requested approximately ten over the course of using the app (~9 months) and not one of them has been evaluated, so I’m not convinced that suggestions are actually monitored :(
Still, I would 110% recommend this app (and I do regularly). Thanks Good On You!
Developer Response ,
Hi there, thanks so much for trying out Good On You and for your feedback!
Reviews like yours truly warm our hearts. We appreciate your support and help in spreading the word about ethical fashion, it means the world to us!
We now rate more than 2,500 brands! While we do our best to monitor all requests and add them to our priority list of brands to rate, we receive a lot of brand suggestions and so it can take our rating time some time to investigate and publish the results. We are working hard to get them all done as quickly as we can!
If you have any other feedback or brands you would like us to research, please send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org!

One of my favourite apps
This app is amazing and a musthave. If you care even a little bit about ethical fashion then this is what you need, to be informed and spend your money consciously. I don’t think we all have the money / energy to fully get rid of all fast fashion and never step foot in a high street shop ever again, and this is why I love this app. With this app, I know the few stores that have 1 or 2 stars so I will avoid and I can still shop in 3+ stores to encourage the brands that are taking steps in a more ethical direction. And that is my decision, Good on you doesn’t tell you what to do, just provides much needed transparency. Because some really cheap stores are actually a lot better than some of the luxury brands out there, and that’s the sort of thing you wouldn’t know otherwise. So I highly recommend getting this app, and even if you don’t follow all the ratings, it gives you SOME visibility!
You help me become more a conscious shopper
Thanks - this is simply great :) to make it even more great, it would be nice to have these features: a link to where you find (or cannot find) the supporting evidence to your research, so we can become more of an avid researcher ourselves too; a button on the brand page that I can press and send them an urging email to be more transparent (e.g. MUJI is listed as not good enough and I really want them to get better!); sort or filter the brands by where I can buy them (in terms of online and brick and mortar stores) AND also by where they are originated or based, as an oriental women sometimes it's hard to find a fit in western brands so I would like the search results be more specific. Overall you've been doing an amazing job. My comments above are more like a nice-to-have: I just want to see more awesomeness coming out :D
