Goosechase 9+

We’re having a lot of fun, running around town and the app makes it so easy to record our progress.

We use this a couple of times a year when we get together with friends and rent houses in far flung places. A common theme is poor wireless connectivity so I would like to see the following feature added : Before setting off, I would like to be able to view all the clues and their images when on wifi and for the app on the phone to cache that data. As it stands, when out and about, every time you look at a clue, it tries to pull the photo afresh each time and with no data connection that is nigh on impossible or at least time consuming.

It would also be useful to be able to take a picture from outside the app and submit it later in the game. I appreciate that this is a security feature to prevent people from preparing in advance and cheating but the EXIF data could validate that a picture was taken during the game. This would help with quick reaction picture evidence as when trying to find the right clue in the app, sometimes you can miss the opportunity.

Also, automatically reducing the file size of images as they are uploaded by the organiser would make the app more responsive.

We purchased this for a friend’s birthday treasure hunt in central Manchester.

We gave up after 30 mins because: the clues were all the same boring format (take a picture of X doing Y in front of a Z - eg “a pretend stranger singing in front of a lamppost”, there was nothing tailored to Manchester (all answers are totally generic street furniture), and when you submit your “evidence” (a photo) it is accepted no matter what. I literally took a photo of the palm of my hand as an answer and got 200 points. So it’s a sham.

Disappointing for our friend. Fortunately weather was glorious so we went for early beers instead.

Can only assume the positive reviews are shill or for a different app.

Total garbage.
