Description

Grammarly for Safari offers real-time suggestions to help you write your best online, no matter what you’re working on in your browser.

With comprehensive feedback on spelling, grammar, punctuation, clarity, and writing style, Grammarly is more than just a proofreader. It’s a tool that helps you write with confidence, find the best words to express yourself, and communicate your ideas with ease.

► How it works
Grammarly analyzes your sentences as you write and adds color-coded underlines to words and phrases where you can improve your writing. You can apply Grammarly’s suggestion with a single click, or expand the suggestion to learn more about it.

► Go beyond grammar
Grammarly’s advanced spelling checker and grammar checker go far beyond the built-in tools of word processors. Grammarly can detect not only misspellings, but also commonly confused words used in the wrong context, like “affect” and “effect.” In addition, it can flag and fix complex grammar and punctuation issues like sentence fragments, comma splices, and subject-verb disagreement.

But great writing is about much more than just grammar and spelling. That’s why Grammarly also helps you streamline wordy phrases and rewrite sentences that are likely to confuse readers. It also suggests word choice improvements to help keep readers engaged, and helps you adjust your tone to ensure you come across the way you intend.

Good but not great

The Safari plug-in works fairly well, it highligts the wrong spelling and suggests a correction right away. However, for longer texts is not that great after all. I've downloaded the desktop app but working on it is excruciating! Keeps suggesting the same corrections over and over, doesn't recognize mistakes on phrasal verbs and even with a paid subscription still doesn't dectes simple errors. On top of that, the app freezes on what looks like a low-res version and the only way to make it work again is to close and reopen.

Grammarly is great but....

I think grammarly is amazing, it has helped me so much! However, I think that it is a bit crazy how restricted the other features are if you do not have premium. I am still a secondary school student and do not fancy asking my parents to pay that much money per month for grammarly, or any money for that matter. I feel like it is inappropriate pricing and that those features should come free or at least as a cheaper one time purchase. Aside from that, I think that is a wonderful appliance and an extremely useful tool which applies extensive vocabulary to your writing and masks any small imperfections with its clarity checker. In summary, I do not think premium is a fair price. Although I understand that you have to make your money some how, I think more people would actually consider using this excellent tool if you were to make it free. This app sincerely appealed to me, what with all the essays and deadlines that I have to reach for school but it is a serious bummer how I cannot get premium as I feel that would really boost my writing and my Grammarly experience.

Brilliant for everyone

I've used Grammarly for a couple of years both on Macs and PCs and can't recommend it enough. My written English is pretty good (I think), and for me, Grammarly makes me think more about how I've written something, rather than helping me fix common errors. I've recommended it to other members of my family, who struggle with punctuation and basic grammar and they find it incredibly useful in creating more professional written correspondance. While I write less in Safari pages, the integration with works well, and it catches the odd mistake.
