Hidden Gem

Within an hour this game had me buying the full experience just to support the developer. An absolute gem of a game, no ads or battle pass system, no ridiculous P2W progression. If we had more games like this on the market mobile gaming would be in a much better state. Easy enough to get to grips with and fun classic RPG vibes to enjoy, was impressed at the amount of customisation available. Can’t wait to play more!

Fantastic game but very problematic

Hi Monomyth team, I want to say first that I love your game. I bought the full version and I’m my 2nd character. I’m always in need of a good turn based dungeon crawler RPG (without predatory micro transactions!) and this fits perfectly. Thank you for your work.

If you’re reading this and care about the whole gaming community you develop for, please change your enemy design of the Mua-Ta. It has become all too common in entertainment to portray indigenous tribal people as unrefined, bloodthirsty warriors and dark magic medicine people. My ancestors inspired your Mua-Ta. I really tried to simply write it off (Google “indigenous representation in media” and you’ll get how rampant it is) but when in the game you called the Mua-Ta “scattered like a pox… in a grotesque swamp,” it cut me pretty deep. This is why society looks down on my people.

I trust you didn’t mean to offend. I also trust you’re better people than this and would want to fix it. Best wishes to your company.

Developer Response ,

All of humanity was a savage, tribal, wilderness dwelling bunch at some point in history. And besides, Mua-Ta, as depicted in Grim Quest, are not even human, they a different species altogether, corrupted to the foul extreme by the Dark. Nothing to do with you or your ancestors whatsoever, whoever they might be. Sorry if it hurt your feelings...

Great so far

Been playing for a few days and I am hooked. Lots of detail in lore and quite a few systems to maintain while playing which keeps the game interesting and adds a level of base management as well as trying to keep your character alive on quests. Few different difficulty options as well that range from “intended” to world of pain. All round really fun so far!
