The most powerful camera for iPhone with the most elegant, simple design — A pro camera for everyone.
Perfect for deliberate and thoughtful photography - for beginners and experts alike. Get started with our included 10 days of photography lessons to get up to speed, or enjoy Macro photography on any iPhone with our Neural Macro feature. With high-end tools, and a beautiful interface designed from scratch for the latest iPhones and inspired by the controls of professional cameras, Halide is your go-to camera when you want to really take a photo rather than a quick snapshot.
Use gestures in Halide to change exposure and manual focus with a swipe, or switch from its powerful automatic mode to manual shooting.
Halide’s professional tools are the most powerful in the App Store, with XDR (Extended Dynamic Range) 14-bit RAW streaming waveform views, color zebras, focus assists like focus peaking and loupe, histograms, an adaptive level grid, and manual depth capture. Customize controls to adapt the app to your needs.
Halide’s control is unmatched. Shoot without any of Apple’s image processing with our minimal, film-like Process Zero — or use Apple Processing for HEIC / JPG shots and ProRAW. Our ProRAW support* is unmatched. Strike the right balance between file size and editing latitude by choosing between 12-bit and 10-bit ProRAW and megapixel options. Effortlessly switch to native RAW, for greater detail and speed.

Ratings and Reviews
Editors’ Notes
Your iPhone and iPad have excellent cameras and the picture wizards at Lux Optics want to help photographers make the most of it with Halide Mark II. This camera app is designed around two principles: the kind of granular settings you’d expect from a professional DSLR, and a slick, one-handed interface that complements today’s devices.
Well worth the money and cheap for what it is
An incredibly good app and I have managed to take some amazing shots with my iPhone XR that really do rival DSLR quality.
Main problem for me is when trying to export to raw and save images to camera roll. If I click the share sheet and save image as raw, once done this takes me back to my last picture again. Usually scrolling me right to the top of my camera roll when I’m editing photos taken weeks before. Also would prefer if the layout mimicked the camera roll with the newest photos at the bottom. Plus when I scroll to the top of my images, if I scroll too fast it takes me back to the camera. Also no way to zoom unless I’m being dumb. Last thing is for when saving files it modify the original instead of making a copy👌
However most of these issues arise for me because the app is so good and I use it on a daily basis.
Misrepresents it’s Macro functionality
Those with larger iPhones generally already have an excellent macro mode built in, so Halide is likely to attract those users with smaller iPhones like the iPhone 13 Mini. Halide holds great promise for those of us looking for a macro substitute. Halide touts it’s ability to fill this gap and that would be great if it actually worked. We tested it comparing it on an iPhone 13 Mini with the closest focus and largest magnification we could manage on the wide lens. We did the same using Halide’s slightly obscure Macro mode and it was a huge disappointment. Not nearly as good as one can achieve using the standard iPhone camera. It is either a developmental fault or it’s Macro mode is a misrepresentation.
Those users who were convinced by the promo pitch may, like us, be very disappointed, and even feel cheated as we do. It’s vital vendors maintain honesty and integrity when marketing software products in the App Store and it’s vital that Apple upholds that philosophy or consumer confidence in the App Store is easily lost or seriously diminished. Having made this observation about the failure of Halide to provide even comparable close focus resolution to the standard wide camera , we like to believe this is a software issue. Until we hear it is resolved we can’t recommend Halide to users if it is the macro mode you are primarily interested in.
