Halo Playback 17+

Let’s start off by saying, I’ve long used Road Angel dashcams because they are brilliant; however this cannot overshadow the overwhelmingly poor apps to support them.

Purchased the Halo Ultima dashcam but nowhere in the guides, instructions or even within the Road Angel app (for warranty registration) does it indicate they have changed the app. Tried to add the dashcam to the existing Road Angel Halo app but not possible. Called tech support only to be told there is a completely different app - this one (Halo Playback). They told me that there are compatibility issues with having your mobile service and Bluetooth turned on while using the app (doesn’t sound right nor that the devs know what they are doing).

Simple enough to add the dashcam but lord have mercy if you want to do anything else like follow their own instructions of updating the firmware — literally impossible. You can’t be connected to your mobile service provider and be connected to the Halo WiFi at the same time.

Asked tech support if they ever review these reviews and the answer was an emphatic no. Told them they need to because both on this app and the previous one are consistent and scathing reviews.

I bought the all new Road Angel Halo Ultima Dashcam for my brand new car and had it installed.

Upon downloading this app as advised by the QuickStart guide, I was extremely disappointed at the lack of quality, cheap design and UI of the app.
It has an extremely clunky feel. The settings section is extremely vague with no explanation of what each of the settings do and in which scenario they are for (i.e parking mode or during a normal drive).
Some examples of these settings include:
“loop recording”
“Flicker”
“G-sensor”

A brief explanation of what these settings do, and in what scenario they are used for would be extremely beneficial to all users.

There are no settings for the advertised ‘voice control’ that this specific Dashcam has.

Not great considering I paid £300+ for this flagship Dashcam and the fitting of it.

This app is terrible, it is slow and non user friendly. The back camera is inverted and cannot chnage it on settings. Downloading clips is slow. Camera settings are terrible.
