Description

HardwareGrowler is the best way to find out when hardware status changes on the Mac. If you need to know what's going on with your Mac, then you need HardwareGrowler.

When your power cable unplugs, HardwareGrowler will spring into action and lets you know about it. Plug in a device like a keyboard, thumb drive, or even a usb headset and get notified about the hardware changes.

HardwareGrowler will also let you know about changes to networking on your Mac. When a wireless connection changes to a different access point or an IP address changes, you'll be notified about the change.

HardwareGrowler is what you need if you need to know about your hardware. HardwareGrowler uses Growl to provide notifications or can do it all by itself. Simple to use, easy to configure, HardwareGrowler is the application for those who need to know.

Long time user of HG but latest update is fantastic.

I like the new icons, but the kicker is that when you download a .dmg and mount it, Hardware Growler displays a notification saying it's been mounted. What's new in the latest update is that you can click this notification to open a folder of the .dmg. ON THE 8TH DAY GOD CREATED HARDWARE GROWLER AND HE SAW IT WAS GOOD.

Does exactly what it says on the tin.

App installed and worked without a hitch.

Customisation options were exactly the two I wanted (no status bar icon and don't list everything currently connected when launching).

The only reason I've withheld a star as I noticed it was using just over 100MB of RAM which considering that Growl itself uses only 60MB seemed a little steep.

Great app! With a few annoying additions

I like the functionality of the app and it really does give you useful information about whats plugged in/unplugged etc.

Whats really annoying though is the window that appears to notify you of what happened while you were away (even though I wasn't away). You have to manually click the exit button each time and there is no option to turn it off…. Its overly frustrating and therefore gets 1 star until fixed.
