Just a few things
I love this app but as I never had pottermore , I really don’t have anything to compare it to . Pottermore sounded great though. The only problems with this app are that (only for the past week or so ) it has been asking for me to log in EVERY single time I go onto it . Before this I just opened the app and was logged in . A second slightly annoying thing is you can’t take any quizzes twice so if I’ve done it and want to give it to my friend to have a go they can’t . Also , you vent take the house , patronus or wand quizzes again either and I really wanted to know what my sisters house was , but not for her to get the app as she hasn’t read or watched all of them yet and there are loads of spoilers on there . I know there are other quizzes online , but I feel like this one is the most trustworthy. One last thing , I wish they added things to the feed once a day , not a couple of times a week . Sorry this is so long , and if you’ve read this far ,thanks and I do recommend this app .
Harry Potter Fan Club
This app is very good and I especially enjoy doing the quizzes. One thing I would like to say about that could be changed is the word searches. I did a word search today and saw that I only had a certain amount of chances. Sometimes, when I have found a word, it may highlight the letter adjacent to it instead of the one I want. Also, if I accidentally tap on the wrong letter, there is no clear way to get off it and I am stuck until I let go, at which point I lose a life. If you tap on the wrong letter, you are forced to lose a life. I really enjoy this app in general but I just thought that was something that could be improved. Thank you for reading my review 👍
A couple of issues
The app as a whole is fine, if a little arbitrary when the website worked as a stand-alone, but the interface is finicky by design, particularly on the sorting hat quiz. The motion controls are an odd choice but there’s not much wrong with it, the tap and hold mechanic is more of a problem; the timing too short, and you can accidentally press answers, especially on the questions where you have to drag along the screen to see all the options. The idea is that you’re charging and releasing a spell, but as lovely and whimsical as that is, the vision shouldn’t get in the way off the functionality of the app. Another half second or two and the problem disappears without any cost to the feel of the app. Another way to fix this would be an option to go back and change your answer in the quiz, though I think the other solution is better since it preserves the idea of your first instinct being the truest, at least in terms of a magical personality quiz organised by a fictional talking hat.
