A lovely app for gay women

I am taking off 1 star to 4 stars because of the app’s interface and slightly confusing features, also there is a lack of awareness of app so less users. HOWEVER, I have had best luck on HER out of any apps - I met my dear ex-girlfriend there who is still my close long-distance friend, it was most beautiful relationship of my life even if it didn’t end in marriage or whatsoever (length doesn’t define success of a relationship), there are less women on HER than tinder so less chance of meeting someone compatible with you, but then again those on the app know more clearly what they want than tinder/bumble babes.

Improvements Needed

Downloaded the other day and I’m already noticing a few issues with the experience.

Firstly, although the dating app scene is crowded these days, HER still has an opportunity to lead the way for the LGBTQ scene if it focuses on how people actually date and want to find people etc so that they’d be willing to pay. The reality is though, the experience without a sub is pretty poor so why would I? But seriously, could you BE anymore expensive?

1 - The name still really confuses me as it’s not exactly inclusive to the FULL market it’s targeting?

2 - I will suddenly get an in-app notification saying someone likes me and it pushes me to tap the notification icon. However, once in there - I can’t do anything BUT like the profile? I can’t exit, I can’t view their profile - it forces me to like as I’m blocked in. I have to shut the app down and when I return to my notifications, that profile isn’t there. However; moments later, it suddenly appears again - blocking me from doing anything.

3 - Why can’t I edit a text block in my profile? I have to delete it or write a new one.

4 - I find the grid design within a profile very basic and the fact that if someone writes a long paragraph of text, it’s not ideal to scroll within a image/light box view - too many different interaction types (swipe left/right, scroll up/down etc).

This is my 2/3 day review but I’m sure I will have more feedback as I *potentially* continue using without subscribing.

New user

I personally picked it because of the positive reviews. Not really like the other apps which seem to have a lot of people interested in just hooking up. I like some aspects such as the communities but do find some things confusing like how you swipe to like people… as I end up accidentally liking or rejecting people also kind of feel like the results of liking people and people liking you should be part of the free user experience because I’ve had people like me but can’t actually interact with them because by the time I get around to accessing the app it blurs them out unless I’m a premium user. Kind of removes the incentives of using the app because how am I supposed to respond to people who match me if I can’t see half of them?
