Description

HINGE, DESIGNED TO BE DELETED
Hinge is the dating app for people who want to get off of dating apps. With profiles that show your personality through text, photos, video, and voice, you have unique conversations that lead to great dates. And it’s working. Currently, people on Hinge go on a date every three seconds. Additionally, in 2022, we were the fastest-growing dating app in the US, UK, and Canada.

HOW WE GET YOU OFF HINGE
When it comes to online dating, people are so busy matching that they’re not actually connecting, in person, where it counts. Hinge is on a mission to change that. So we built an app that’s designed to be deleted. Here’s how:

* We quickly learn your type. You’ll only be introduced to the best people for you.

* We give you a sense of someone’s personality. You’ll get to know potential dates through their unique answers to prompts, as well as information like religion, height, politics, dating intentions, relationship type, and much more.

* We make it easy to start a conversation. Every match begins by someone liking or commenting on a specific part of your profile.

* We want you to feel confident about meeting people in person. Selfie Verification makes it easier for daters on Hinge to ensure that they are who they say they are.

* We ask how your dates are going. After exchanging phone numbers with a Match, we’ll follow up to hear how your date went so we can make better recommendations in the future.

The app is free to use. Members looking to see everyone who likes them or send unlimited likes can upgrade to Hinge+. To access additional features, including enhanced recommendations and priority likes, we offer HingeX.

Better than some

This app is definitely better than others out there if you’re looking for a real connection rather than a one nighter (although that doesn’t stop the one nighters/sexters from trying their luck anyway)
Negative about this (and probably all the others to be fair) is that they kinda trick you in the beginning with lots of good looking people who match with you but never talk, I’ve realised these are more than likely bots/fake profiles created to make the app look more desirable.
Also the key is patience with this one, my matches are few and far between compared to tinder or bumble where I’m matching about 80% of the time, perhaps this is because they don’t show your profile to everyone at once or maybe people are just less active on here. You also can’t see everyone who’s liked you at once, you have to go though them one by one and decide if you like them or not then you must use one of your limited likes to match with them.
Conclusion, it’s a slow burner but still better than other apps and filters out Some of the “can’t be bothered, just want to sexters”

Highly recommended 🥰

So… I first ever started online dating in 2015 and was on and off some of the main apps for several years (Bumble, Happn and Tinder). Overall it wasn’t a smooth journey and finding a true match wasn’t easy to come by. After some time away from online dating and when I felt ready, I decided to try Hinge at the very start of 2021 and instantly liked the layout, the way you can create your profile and add a little quirkiness to it. I was quite picky who I got chatting to because I wanted to find someone who felt right for me and me for them. I only spoke to a few people on Hinge, but they appeared to be more genuine compared to people I had spoken to (and met) on other dating apps in the past. By spring of 2021 I had deleted my Hinge account because I met someone very special on there who is now my boyfriend. We’ve known each other nearly 3 years, we are extremely happy and moved in together at the start of 2022. I recommend this dating app to someone who is looking for a serious relationship but I can understand that not everyone’s experience of using Hinge has been a positive one. Dating in general isn’t black and white, even more so during the pandemic began. Lastly, I have never left a review for dating apps before and have been in longterm relationships that began from meeting people online, but I found this particular app to be the most positive dating experience and enjoyed using the app itself. Happy dating 💕

Simply Awful

This app is dreadful for a number of reasons. It’s compatibility theory is embarrassingly off, I’ve had all kinds of mishaps with people I’ve managed to get off Hinge and into my phone. The likes system is a joke. I’m not even going to be modest, I’m a good looking man and yet somehow have been worthy of 3 likes and 3 matches in the past 4 weeks, I wonder what that would look like if I paid 12 quid a month. Conversations die on there out of nowhere so much so I question do messages even get through, I know likes from my side aren’t even computing as I’ve recently found a woman I liked previously on my standouts. Hinge had the potential and did (initially) two things Tinder didn’t - actually understand your type (I like a curvier larger lady) and showed me who liked me and gave me an option to like back or reject rather than Tinder’s painful “gold members blur”. Now time has worn on and I haven’t parted with cash it’s drip feeding me women I’m not remotely interested in, my likes aren’t being received and apparently I’m a munter who nobody even fancies. Let’s just say they’re lucky I’m quite strong in the mental health stakes but it’s bad that they’re happy to leave some people questioning their looks and personalities all for a few quid. Poor app that basically says pay up or them purple pop ups will become less and less frequent.
