A fascinating reinvention of a longtime videogame franchise, Hitman GO takes familiar elements of stealth and assassination and reinterprets them as a wondrously stylised, turn-based boardgame. Each mission presents characters and scenes—some from previous Hitman games—as a sleek diorama, blending old and new to create an innovative experience. Even with helpful distractions and places to hide, inching toward your targets a step at a time demands keen strategy, and trying to pull off optional mission objectives quickly becomes an irresistible obsession.

Really enjoyable game!

I’ve been a big fan of the Hitman series for some time, and came across this while idly wondering if they had ported Hitman to the iPad. It’s not the same as the original games, but it is a really well made, turn based strategy that sees you carefully planning moves and tricks to evade detection and carry out missions. I found this game a very good distraction, with plenty of fairly quick missions, which was ideal for trips on the London Underground, especially since it doesn’t require online connection to play. The number of missions, combined with the different types of enemy, each with their own characteristics, provides enough variety and content that the game takes some time to complete in total, but, with a bit of careful thought, you can complete a mission in about 5 to 10 minutes, making the game a well worth purchasing.

Best of the ‘Go’ Trilogy

Great puzzles, great franchise, great value for money. Best iPhone game I have played yet. Like the other Hitman games there is replay value as you complete level-specific challenges.

The only thing I can critique is use of the Ave Maria song on every boss level. This is a great song used at the end of the Blood Money game, but spamming this game with the song feels a little cheap. Using it on the ‘Blood Money Inspired’ map alone would have been really cool. Alas, this is a very minor critique!
