Mostiac ,

Just needs a few modifications.

This could be a really good little app with a few modifications.
Initially it nags you every time you open it to enter home insurance details. No facility to enter “do not show again” or similar. Very irritating. I stuck in any old thing just to make the nagging go away - because I was at first using the app to determine how much my insurance amount should be, not the other way round!
Then, when the total value of goods exceeds the insurance amount entered in the Contract box, it nags again - and stops additional entries until the insurance amount has been changed.
The other irritant is that, when entering a new item from within a Category, the Category field is blank and has to be manually entered. It’s so easy to forget this and “lose” the item. If the Category in the left-hand list is highlighted and the Category is clearly shown at the top of the entry window, the Cateory field really should not be shown as None.
The app needs a Save button after adding an item, rather than everything saving automatically. The corollary is that, once New Entry is clicked, the item is logged, even if nothing else is input, so that after a while the list is sprinkled with items called New Entry.
It would be better if there were fields for Model and/or Model Number. The app definitely needs a field for Warranty Length and possibly for Warranty Supplier.
It would be helpful if there were Don’t Know boxes for Price, Purchase Date, Bought At, rather than just having to leave these fields blank.
Despite all this, I’ve been using the app for a while and will continue to do so as I find it hits the right balance between being overly simple and overly detailed.
