I would not recommend this unless you want to pay money. I got this app because I wanted to layout how my room would look like. The walls and everything are not that hard to do but my sister had to tell me how to work some of the things out. I took a while doing that but the problem was that when I went to put the furniture in. I have a bunk bed and was putting that in first; I had a double bed on the bottom and single on the top because before I had a separate room my sister shared mine but the ONLY double on the bottom was pro. I am never aloud to spend money on games and half of the items you needed to be pro to use. I could not change the colour of the bed either so I gave up with the app and i am now a grey with myself because the app was a waste of time for my reason of using it. I am not saying this app is bad at all for Peale who are making up rooms but if you want to plan out your bedroom like me I would stick to the irritation of drawing it on paper. I have not deleted this app yet because i may have fun making up room ideas. So it depends on wether you are designing your room or making up rooms! Oh my god I have wrote a lot

I’m a professional architect and have bought the pro version to use to design the renovation of my new house. Best money I’ve spent in a while. The database is extensive, and the ability to edit or add materials and change sizing and proportions means that you can pretty much match with any product on the market, even if the exact product you have in mind is not available, and truly test how it would fit to your space. The building elements also have a fantastic range, I’ve modelled a two story house from scratch, now using it to communicate the design to the contractors, and you can extract plans, 3d visuals, and elevations with all the key measurements. This measuring feature could be a little improved as it often misses key dimensions in the elevations, but it’s still very useful to communicate the design. Only major issue I have is that it crashes frequently, especially when searching for a material or furniture in the database, however, all changes are saved when reloading the app, so even if annoying it’s not the end if the world. Beware of battery consumption, it eats the phone’s battery away and is best used when charging (the battery still drops while in charge but in a much slower pace, and the iphone might overheat). The fact that you can use it on the go is a massive convenience for me, as I would otherwise need to use a laptop or pc to access professional software, but now I can do it pretty much everywhere, so the creativity flows better and I keep improving my design every single day. Obsessed!

I wanted to renovate my home and this app initially seemed very good for the purpose.Unfortunately, after using it a little bit to scan the rooms I stumbled over a few areas where it struggled. I tried to correct the issues manually and it would completely change the layout of the room forcing me to start again. Eventually I managed to get it to work, but then came across another strange issue. After scanning the rooms and creating floor plans I then discovered I couldn’t assign them to the rooms in the main menu of the floor plans section and would have to rescan the rooms using those sections if I was to use them in that way… like… why? I wouldn’t have minded if I could name the floor plans I created and hide the default options, but I couldn’t… again… why?It’s a real shame that this isn’t more intuitive as room scanning tech is really impressive.I probably could make my peace with this, but then I came across the absolutely ridiculous pricing structure. They basically force you to get the pro mode, but then you discover there are a bunch of features hiding behind a pro+ mode… but then there is also a pro++ mode with more features.If you are professional who can write off the costs then I can see the benefits of this application, for sure, but for someone just wanting to experiment with decorating ideas, this application can become frustrating in ways that it just doesn’t need to be.

I’m not an interior designer, I’m not a commercial builder. I just want to get a floor plan of my room and see if various ikea furniture will fit. I like the 3D view it’s a nice touch but I don’t need it. I don’t need renovation advice, I don’t need to even save my design though it could prove useful to show the Mrs an idea if she is in work. One thing I could do with though is accuracy and that is where this application falls down. You have the choice it seems to have a randomly sized wall to affix your furniture to or pay a monthly premium sum to add tonnes of features I don’t require. Even design software on my commodore Amiga had accuracy and that is, it seems, a premium option on this particular application.Adjusting a wall leads to ridiculous leaps in size if for example you have a wall that is 450 cm wide the adjuster will leap from 400 to 480 or 325 the other way, no accuracy at all, not even near it.For plonking ikea furniture in a randomly sized room this is great but for accuracy, even within a foot or six you need to sign up to a monthly fee.I think the only people this app in it’s free form would be good for are children playing house design or people who want a very rough, and I mean rough, guess at what ikea furniture would look in a room sort of similar to what they have.The premium version really is geared up for builders and homes under the hammer watchers.Think it’s back to pen and paper for me.
