Great tradesman, app needs refining
First time user to get a locksmith. Very good experience overall with the tradesman and like that payment is all done through the app. One hitch for us was that having booked a time slot, that locksmith couldn’t make that. Not his fault as it would seem that the app doesn’t link on a live basis with his availability. He said he tries to honour each time slot but can’t make it work all the time - which is obvious. I assume it might be better that you book a provisional time slot, with that then being confirmed (say within a few hours/the next working day) by the tradesman himself. But good experience overall, with the comfort that comes from knowing you’re dealing with a JL approved person.
Dreadful app - and zero service
I really wanted to use this app because it seemed to promise a reliable tradesman but I had to give up because the app is just astonishingly poorly designed. Asks for your address, starting with postcode. Enter postcode, it appears with a little magnifying glass. Click to search for address...nothing. Ok, try to enter debit card details...no good because no address registered. Then I register a card and enter my address by editing my Profile. Back to booking. Where it says that no address is associated with my postcode.
John Lewis should be ashamed to publish this mess.
Update: having sorted the issues described above by contacting John Lewis on the phone I was happy to be offered quite an early appointment with a plumbing company. To cut a long and painful story short, after several conversations with the plumbing company, they couldn’t do the work. John Lewis then messaged to say the appointment had been re-scheduled and they’d be in touch “soon”. 5 days later, haven’t heard from them. Literally the only outcome of using this app and “service” has been the waste of several hours of my time and a good ten days delay in fixing the problem.
Service good, app less so
The service has been great - good tradesmen and I liked being able to book at a tine that suited me. But the app seems unnecessarily difficult . It’s not clear how to give feedback after each job. It’s also not clear when a booked visit will just give a quote and a second visit will need to be booked- that’s not great when you work full time.
So the app needs some work - but I love the service!
