Giving up on it - or am I?

System too unreliable, I’m constantly having to add devices back in, seems Homey likes Static or reserved IPs, not DHCP on managed devices. Devices show as being available yet can’t be controlled from Homey. Work just fine from native apps. I spent a lot of time creating flows, which worked for a while and now do nothing. Unfortunately for me at least Homey is simply not reliable, I depend on security alerts and flows and them not working consistently just isn’t on. I have even reset Homey and added all devices and apps back in but with same results. Maybe I’m doing something wrong but I do not thinks so. Back to the native apps with limited automation capabilities but at least they work reliably. Such a shame as the concept is excellent.

Update 13/7 - well I didn’t give up on the Homey. Sticking a £400 device in a draw irked me. So I reset it and added devices and apps back in. I also purchased the USB C Ethernet adaptor and now power the device from a UPS protected socket. So far so good. I’ve not had to add devices in repeatedly and so far automations are working reliably. Let see how it goes, as I say an excellent concept……

Great home automation nice compliment to HomeKit

First up, this is not a free solution. To get a good experience, you are either going to have to pay for a Homey pro or stump up for a monthly subscription. I value my smart home experience so took a punt and purchased a homey pro. Three months in and it has been one of my best purchases ever. I love HomeKit and it is generally my platform of choice. Homey though really fills the gaps.

I’ve got multiple z-wave devices including door sensors, locks, multi sensors and sirens all working and forwarded to HomeKit. Various zigbee sensors all work. Philips hue and ikea are supported via their own bridges but am considering Importing them natively into Homey and losing the extra bridges. Netatmo cameras all work fine and even have some nice two way communication with a couple of virtual devices in Hoobs.

If you like HomeKit but often wish it would do more, haven’t got the time to spend on Home Assistant then I really would recommend taking a look at Homey.

Great app but dull separating line

This is a great app and really like the look and functionality of it - I would of given it 5 stars but why is the line and the name separating rooms so greyed out that you can hardly see them - would look much better if they where white like when logging in through the website - hope they can fix this
Update to my last review - the app has had a total work over and looks fantastic - Athon are constantly pushing updates out - using this app with the New Homey Pro 2023 which works great - definitely worth looking into if you’re into home automation
