Great start. When booking, the extra add-ons such as flight delay guarantee are brilliant. Any flight delayed by one hour or more is refunded in full. Given the poor state of airline services generally you get reimbursed for poor service without the hassle of dealing with airline services. It feels like they’ve thought of everything - and although the coverage policies add a little to your flight - it’s totally worth it when things go wrong which for me happens more often than not when flying. Honestly couldn’t recommend this app enough.

We planned ahead, more than a month in advance, our trip to Manchester and my partner was giving hopper a chance for the first time. Worst idea ever! We received the confirmation of our room in a nice -on budget- hotel (Manchester south hotel). One week before we go to Manchester, we received an email that the room was not available and give us three options, we confirmed our option within the day and we received again a confirmation that the hotel we chose was not available and we needed to choose again. Long story short, it was one day before our trip and we still didn’t have a hotel to stay and we had all our itinerary booked except a hotel. At the end, we end up looking for a place to stay two times more expensive than the original option. Both my partner and I are uninstalling this app as we cannot trust it again for our trips… who is going to give us back the additional time and money we have spend on looking ourselves for a second option to avoid loosing more money?

Before I narrate my experience, I will say booking with Hopper was quite straightforward and I really do enjoy the price watch feature. Very helpful. THAT BEING SAID, if you want to make any changes to your booking at all, the process is extremely tedious and difficult, despite paying over £110 EXTRA (on top of the price of the ticket) to ensure that this option was open to me. I have called the customer care line several times, and I am just being told the same thing by different representatives. Not to mention all my emails have gone unanswered!! No one is interested in actually listening to the difficulties I’m having with their flawed system, much less of wanting to actually solve the issue. As these are international calls, I have used so much credit to no avail, all the while, airline tickets are going up! I advise travellers to not use this app if you will be in a foreign country where you may need immediate assistance. 2 ⭐️s is very generous. Thoroughly unimpressed
